What I learnt as a batsmen against swinging deliveries:
1) Play late.
2) Soft hands.
3) Always look to play straight, never even towards the mid on and mid off.
4) No gap should be there between bat and the pad, keep bat as close as possible.
5) Never go n push towards the ball, let it come to you.
6) Keep watching it nicely out of the bowler's hand till the moment it makes contact with the bat.
7) Don't do too many things, stay single minded, decisively attempt only one shot at a moment.
8) Forget previous deliveries, focus on the current delivery only, with no doubts or concerns in the back of your mind.
I'd appreciate if you guys help me with anything I forgot to learn here😊
The most important things according to me, are actually predicting and playing the ball at the last moment ,it actually worked for me while playing swing , unless they brought a spinner and ruined my game plan 😂😂

@Feary Flamingo 2 I can't tell about Pujaara and Rahane but Rohit can definitely not play swing bowling. We all know how he scored a 50 at the SCG (the ball was offering nothing to the bowlers). So I guess you're pretty correct.

Such a shame we didn't get to see more of Simon Jones bowling due to injury. He was genuinely world class, and had some serious pace too. Easily one of my favourite bowlers growing up and he was consistently troubling Australia's batsmen throughout that Ashes series and produced some magical moments! I could watch his dismissal of Michael Clarke all day long! 😍

While talking about other players like Rohit Sharma who also didn't did well in his starting but was given chances on consistent basis, actually Rohit Sharma and some others can never pay MSD for their present(wht they r today) But DK wasn't helped that much, because MSD's mindset(captaincy tactics) buried DK's immense Talent.

The ball at 3:02 by Jimmy Anderson was just like the ball or the century which he bowled against New Zealand in 2007 at 0:38 which he accomplished TWICE in the same match, and along these years he has managed to keep the consistency and accuracy with age catching up. What a remarkable bowler and a sportsman, once in an era.
Unfortunately we didn't see Simon Jones later due to injuries. His late swing was clueless for Australians in Ashes.

All these balls were spectacular. You actually can't blame batsmen for playing bad because these balls were some of the toughest to play
@@0jas. Not all of them. Some of those outswingers could have been handled by the batsmen.. had they not just tried to play everything through the line. SMH. All though, the ones which were pitched full towards the middle stump were really difficult to play
If course it was Karthik's fault. The gap he left between bat and pad was big enough to drive a bus through. It was a horrible fucking shot, end of.....

Ahhh the Jimmy Anderson special, aim it at middle, get the batsman to try to clip off the pads and the ball holds its line off the pitch and hits off stump. I wonder how many bowleds or outside edges he's got doing that. Even as an Aussie I applaud the guy. One of the best of this time.

Till now England team without Jimmy 9 is experienceless. He is still a legend at an age of 39.
As an indian i feel Stokes with the ball is more than just an allrounder, he has that fast bowler agressiveness within him and he is a beast in test cricket, saw many times he gets crucial wickets and especially when others fail and he's also got our king kohli many times.. Respect for Ben stokes, He's been always the go to man for england in past couple of years

If Simon Jones hadn't sustained a terrible injury, he would have become one of England's all time best bowlers. His bowling in the 2005 Ashes series was stunning. I was always impatient for Harmison and Hoggard to finish their opening spells so that Flintoff and Jones could bowl. Jones was injured in the fourth test and couldn't play the fifth, but he took 18 wickets at an average of 21, more than anyone except Flintoff, who took 24 at 27.29. It was a great shame that his career was cut short so early.
