- Momentary paralleling of transformers or sources are required for manual bus transfer.
In industry at distribution level continuous paralleling is not used to avoid high value of fault current. If two or more no of sources are connected in parallel then it increases the fault level. Also if a certain amount of load is delivered through two transformers in parallel then if one transformer is get out of service the load delivery capacity reduces.
Hence it is often practiced to consider 100% redundancy of source is considered. So if you want to change the load from one source to another without interrupting the load you will need momentary paralleling.

Thanks for watching the video.
Very Nice Video Sir, it was a refresher for me👍👍👍, very nicely explained
Very well explained. Waiting for part 2
Can you do a video on Most used relays and in what situation in is used?
Very nice, can you make a video of various testings carried on transformer FAT and SAT before charging a new transformer. Transformer and substation maintenance throughout a year?
At our site at source side we synchronised, than close breaker and open other breaker..but it is not used for power changeover of high load current..
Yes that is fundamental of momentary paralleling. Sync, close, open other breaker. You are from which site???
J.k.paper
Waiting for Part-2.
And how circuit starting will be managed during case-2 which is under voltage?
Ie, during 27 activation, 86 give trip command to breaker at 2nd Trafo to Bus section-2.
This time all outgoing feeders will shut down.
Now when bus section-2 loads transferring to Bus Section-1, by closing Bus-Coupler, the loads in distribution side will be starting together, right? How to manage this starting to avoid large inrush current?
Undervoltage relay is not fed to 86. So in automatic if incomer 2 under voltage relay has picked up, 86 has not operated, and bus coupler is open that means we can trip incomer 2 and close bus coupler. It is a simple but beautiful logic
@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 Thanks for feedback, Appreciate if u can tell what all relay can fed to 86.
And in the scenario where trip incomer 2 and close bus coupler, how can we manage startup of complete system in Bus section-2?
Is this starting sequence you mean simple but beautiful logic?
Motors breaker will be on. So when the source is changed the motor will keep running. And as the motors are not stall so they won't draw huge starting current.
@@electricaltechnologyandind5335 can you please provide your contact number?
Sir can you explain the process when there is a fault on one incomer and 86 relay operates. Then in this situation how to feed the loads on bus section 2 ?
Is this relevant to the UK system?
informative video. Can you do a zigzag grounding transformer sizing with an NER video.
thank you
Is the momentary Paralleling always done in manual mode?
As far as i am concerned yes...
I think you missed the checksync while momentary parallel ing
It should not be. It is the prime consideration.
