I live in Russia, and I can confirm that corruption in our country is everywhere. For example: if you drive a car and violate the rules of the road, and you are stopped by a policeman, then you can give him a bribe and he will let you go. If you study for a driver’s license and can’t pass the exam, you will also give a bribe and you will be issued your driver’s license. If you study at a university and cannot pass the exam, then you can also give a bribe to the teacher and the issue will be resolved in your favor))) This is Russia
We used to be like that in Brazil as well, apart from bribes to teachers, which I never heard of. Dodging the traffic infraction is present in many of our jokes though. But I think this is getting better and better.

Удивительно, насколько русские зациклены на видимости, а не на смысле, на форме, а не на содержании, на том, чтобы казаться, а не быть. Именно поэтому Россия такова, какова она есть сейчас.

Сложно поддерживать правильное произношение не на родном языке -- очень быстро устает язык, мышцы лица, голосовые связки.
