So, what makes this post particularly meaningful to me is context
It's important to know, I have not "seriously" practiced piano since I was doing it regularly back when I first started at age 5 until about 10 when I began getting more involved with band in 5th grade and started playing wind instruments primarily for the long foreseeable future
Sure, very infrequently, I most likely found a small dose of short-lived and minor ADHD inspiration and motivation to pick it up for a brief stint, but nothing very longterm or substantial for myself that I could call myself "serious" with it again
But since I graduated and have had difficulty with wind instruments due to the recent metal braces I had put on to help adjust my teeth and ease my TMJ issues I've had since my sophomore year, I decided to really go after it again ever since I heard this song on Laufey's newest "Bewitched" album
Something I am ever so grateful for is how Laufey has gone about their musical distribution and their treatment of their listeners and supporters. Upon the release of her album, she gave away the sheet music to all her newest albums songs for free on her website, allowing myself among many others the opportunity to practice and be able to do performance covers of her recently released music
I absolutely LOVE this song so much. So much so that it brought me back from the piano playing dead and inspired me to learn this piece. I have been practicing it on and off on a regular basis for the past month since the albums debut, and so far, here is my progress for it
I won't call this my best just yet on it, but it's something I feel proud enough to share now and I intend to continue polishing it and working on to hopefully become a closer match to the album version which is varied slightly from the sheet music provided
