DQ3 was my first and all time favorite, happy to see other fans enjoying it. More DQ in the west!!! Anyone else here been to Dragon Quest Island it is a blast.
@@Jab-02 the more dragon quest we get the better, but it's bad for my bank account haha. Is love to go to dragon quest island one day, a definite bucket list item
We need 4-6 for sure. I also hate that there’s no definitive version of 8. It’s arguably the best in the series, and definitely the first game a newcomer should play after 11. Rereleasing 8 in 11’s engine would be incredible
Great video dude! I have a tough time choosing between the PS2 and DS remakes of Dragon Quest 5. I THINK I prefer the DS version, but they're both really, really good for different reasons. I still need to play the 3DS remake of DQ8, but in all honesty I just think it doesn't look nearly as good as the PS2 version haha!
Thanks Dukey, I think part of the reason is I never get into handheld games as much as I do home console/pc. Like I always use my switch docked. But yeah the PS2 version looks so good lol
@ Sometimes I get to be too much of a purist, and the DS version looks more similar to the original Super Famicom version. That and the fact that there’s an extra bride and I THINK more monsters to recruit (not sure on this one) are why I tend to lean towards the DS version. But like I said, I can hardly choose between the two.
They definitely didn’t make Dragon Quest three easy with the remake. I like it but it’s a grind. (there is an easy difficulty level, but I won’t play that) Also, yay I’m not the only one who is silly enough to buy the $200 version
If you want to speed things up, set battle speed to max and set tactics to fight wisely. I do all my grinding while progressing through dungeons, and I am surprised at how long my MP pools last.
I just picked some of my favourites, and since we are seeing the (in my opinion) definitive releases coming out now with the HD-2D remakes. I wanted to highlight some of the other games' remakes :)
I can get appeal of the PS2 versions, but the portability of the DS/3DS/mobile remakes appeals to me for playing on the go (as a sidenote the mobile version of DQ4 re-instated the party chat so it is in an official English version). Would also welcome a Zenithia Trilogy remake. I did get DQ3HD2D. As much as I like Dragon Quest I've never actually played the original 1,2,3 trilogy so this and next year's 1&2 remake will be a first time experience. Also hope you don't mind some technical criticism but be careful about turning away from the microphone while talking. It doesn't pick up your voice as clearly. The drop was especially noticeable at 13:00.
Yeah I didn't realise I turned away in the moment, didn't feel like reshooting that segment so just rolled with it. And yeah, I am glad that the party chat was included in the mobile version, personally I really struggle with playing on mobile, I can never get into it. But they're good versions
your european ps5 box art version of the game does not match the collector's book drawing. You know what does match? The japanese box art. Why? Because square enix thought it was cool to charge customers full price but not cool to actually care between japanese and other customers. Such a shame because this was an expensive collector. Won't trust them as easily next time!
Bro if they dont animate the fucking beautiful sprites in the battles which are 95% of these games!! Whats the god damn point!?!?!?! we are in 2024!!! It costs 60 dollars! WTF did they do?!? If you want it like the old games just make that an option!!!
I dont like all these remasters though. We need real remakes like 3d not just 2dhd pixel art whatever i get its nostalgic to people who played these games in the stone age but if they want newcomers to play as well they should modernize these classics
Or newcomers can just get with the program and appreciate what these games are. I wasn't around when the Famicom/NES games released, but I can still play them no problem.
I might be minority but DQ3HD2D remake looks bettet than DQ11. 2D just works better on turn based RPGs. Octopath games are amazing and DQ3 looks even more detailed. Shame they didnt include more modern combat animations.
absolute legend! I hope the remakes do well too! Maybe if they do, they'll give us 4,5,6 on modern consoles. Until then, I shall pray

I’m getting some very sick DQ videos on my feed with this new release. This is one of the best ones I’ve seen.

DQ VII on PSone is amazing! I believe it’s the best selling PSone game in Japan.
I can't tell you how much I want Dragon quest monsters 1&2 hd 2d remakes.
@@jaredfrahm7679 I would die, Team Asano should hire you for the ideas division
DQ3 is awesome can't wait for the next remakes! Shall preorder!
I always felt that JRPGs strayed too far away from their Wizardry DNA. I'm having a blast with this and can't wait for more!

There are more monsters in the DS version, but the difference is only small
I'd love to see a conservative remake of 5 that brings back the 3 person party.
How's that for a unique take?
@ I would hate that tbh. Besides; you can probably just play the other remakes with 3 party members if you so choose anyway
As someone who played dqx offline on steam, 500 hours worth, I happy to try 1 to 3, but I want more 4 to 9 yes
On a tangent, I really want a Chrono Trigger 2D-HD remake…
I also would love that
What a handsome DQ fan, just like me
Been waiting for this!
Im so big regretti for not getting this edition 😭😭😭 looks so nice!!!
It's really nice, but it was also really expensive lol
Hopefully they’ll port 7 8 and 9 to the switch 2
Either that or PS5 at least
Great Video!!

Did you copy of the game ship inside the book? Or separately? .
Shipped inside, in the right slot
Any reason why you didn't mention the DQ I, II, and III remakes for the Super Famicom?

Ah yes, because we all outside japan played DQ10
I recommend it if you haven't, it's fully playable in english with translation tools!
@Petchigoo you mean on pc ?
Yeah, sadly the translation tools aren't compatible with console versions (I wish)
