When I first heard this song I was driving a tractor trailer down the coast of Florida, watching the waves crash on the beach on a sunny day. The announcer came in on the radio saying "You are headed south on A1A...Listening to the Doobie Brothers" The beauty of that scene and the slow groove of the song combined to make a perfect memory. Everything seemed to mesh that day.
I have a similar thing listening to Michael and the Doobies on my 8 track out of quad speakers in my truck at 3:00 a.m. flying down a 2 lane highway on the desert in the middle of nowhere going to El Paso with a carpet of stars on a perfect Spring, no-moon nite. It was the 70s and there was not one car out there. One of those mystery lights we have in the mountains out there was flying over the desert right along with me. It was about half a mile away to my right and kept pace with me. After a few songs, it flew off over the mountains. I felt like a star from the heavens had dropped down to say hello. Exhilarating!
BRs Anime Corner The Bruce Hornsby t shirt was a sweet, humble tribute to his fellow musician, unstained by any Big Ego. You’re right; Michael McDonald did not perform often in a t shirt!!!
The 1970's were a great time of love music had hippies and jimmy carter was president 1977 to 1980 and pittsburgh Steelers won 4 super bowls and Chargers quarterback was Dan Fouts of air coryell .
This will always be known as the first song played on my old karaoke machine. 😂. They had a Doobie brothers disk and it was great. I was so close to matching his vocals. 😂. Maybe next time.

What's that keyboard at the start because that's not from minute by minute?

I have always preferred Doobie songs with To Johnston in the lead.
I was in that crowd. However, it turned out to be a rather weak show.
