wow.....21 yrs already! Bought it in NYC at the imports section at what used to be Virgin Megastore, Times Square. Changed my life, became a professional DJ. I owe these classic CD's and especially John Digweed a huge debt! This cd never gets old.....

perfection in mixing before digital mixers, CDJs, consoles, serato, traktor, or whatever other garbage that is used in todays DJ circuit... this is why these mixes are so tight, so elegant, beautiful, thought out, crafted by a genius that was dedicated to his craft, the groove, and not to some LCD/LED screen telling him where to drop or cut...
John DIgweed, master and genius, truly todays DJ could take a lesson.

@@alexanderv8322 it's not even that (though it does have some character to it, or soul), this stuff is produced with exact drop points that make the transitions move correctly- the producers of this sound were at least half of the talent as I see it

Disc 2 one of my favorite sets of all time; especially when he drops "Words." But everything leading up to that moment... someone else here said it, close to perfection.

This DJ set is as close to perfection as its possible. Combining energy, trance, hypnosis, melodies, eclectic, mixing genres. Sounds so good...

Came to remember the good times from the late 90s 🥰
This CD was how I discovered and transitioned into real trance. I started out listening to cheesy uplifting pop trance. My friends (although techno heads not trance) knew that I was an absolute cheese meister who needed help / saving so they hooked me up with this CD.
That weekend I went out and burnt all my shitty upfliting trance CD's and restocked with as much Paul Oakenfold, Sashsa and John Digweed mixes as I could find.
My discs are scratched to all get out. over play, lending., car abuse..disc 2 my favorite. Many a late night, last 4 tracks (if I had to single out...) most inspiring...makes me want to run again. This is how I hang onto some of the best years of my life....Dancing, free...expression...good times with no regrets. Just joy...
I must have racked up at least 4,000 km of driving to CD2 alone; great driving music.
I ripped mine so long ago, before they got worn out, so glad I did!

The GU that started it all for me. Absolutely incredible.
I used this CD set as one of those foundational pieces from which to build out my music library. Man, it's still great to hear this again. This music is timeless

Fuck this was amazing in its day , and has aged pretty well considering it's nearly a ¼ of a century old.
It was one of the few global's from number 1 to around 25 I didn't own back then.
Because I didn't need to tbh, my best mate who was like a brother has it and we usually went out to the same parties or places on nights out.
Sadly that day is gone as the man died aged 34 , 8 years ago .

Oh my god i really really like & love this album is so fine and sofisticated for me when i was 17 that stills inspiring me each time i listen it
I remember those days in my youth, when i was looking for good electronic music,didn't know who, or what good electronic music would sound, but i took my time in the store, like around 2 hours or so, then i came across a double cd that it looked sophisticated to me somehow i wasn't sure tho cause i didn't know nothing about this guy neither with at least 1 of the songs in it, buy he looked well dress, the cd felt heavy, it seem to me inside was something well done or at the very least this guy put a big effort, it said: "DJ sasha" and something that clear my doubts was that the cd said GLOBAL UNDERGROUND.... COULDN'T wait home to play it,
To summarize i will say this, yo me is the must wonderful music i discover on my own, djs with the class and fame world wide something that i was not aware djs were doing, but as far as i found out, a few had this privileged jet-set life style like sasha j. Digweed, okenfold, nick warren, and few more but rapidly started to grow,
And when i went to a concert to see Paul Okenfold in Portland Or. This i will never forget, without of doubt one of the most accelerating,wonderful and impactful moments in my life for sure...

Everything was a masterpiece for Sydney especially disc 2. For myself I felt as if the sound within each soundtrack was very Outback Australia. I always have felt this was the perfect Trance journey!

+Dan Hare Nick Warren had a couple essential mixes i thought were on par with this circa 2000.
Sasha's GU San Francisco and Ibiza are masterpieces. If you can find Kimbal Collins ICU 1st CD, it is really good stuff for this time period. You may also like Taylor's United DJs of America Los Angeles and Synesthesia. Dave Seaman's Renaissance mixes are great works as well.
