Beautiful fish you said everything I would say. Not only do they lay a bunch of eggs there close to guppies once they pair off they will lay eggs about monthly if they get the chance. Very stunning fish. One of my favorites. Thanks for sharing
So true. They seem to stop laying eggs eventually but I've had two pairs in the same tank protecting eggs at the same time. The fry always get eaten eventually and though they guard them pretty close I've never seen anyone get hurt from it.
My 75g in my living room is all EBA's and Angel fish that I raised outside this summer in ponds. One bit me once when my hand got too close to their fry! They're the best looking freshwater fish out there IMO. Colors on a EBA are unmatched in freshwater.
I have a couple of them in my tank in the house. I think I have two females, they never mate. I keep them with small fish (tetras, barbs, mollies, panda corys) and they don't bother anyone. Beautiful fish, great temperaments, and hardy. Thanks for sharing.
I had some smaller tetras start disappearing when I had them with them but the tank was a little crowded and another fish could have been the culprit. They are pretty good with most fish though. Thanks for watching!
Let me know if you've kept the electric blue acara before and what your experience was like!

That's so cool that you raised them outside! Yeah I've definitely gotten a few nips from them when stealing the fry. Thanks for sharing!
