This has become a very common problem. Coming out of winter my fleet of 2020 ram 3500's began falling off. They all started the "regeneration"cycle for about 10 seconds then flashed DPF full. Eventually we ended having to replace the catalytic converter, DPF and Particulate Matter Sensor. These items have been problematic since the beginning with these trucks. Began within first 5000 miles. Could be caused by something in the "winter blended" fuel.
Have you tried using Cetane booster in the fuel? Do your trucks see a lot of idling time? These trucks need to see good amount of pressure in the exhaust otherwise it gets filled up with soot quickly.
@@naralvjorge213 Yes, fortunately for the customers Chrysler/FCA do good job warranty wise. Unless of course, the damage was done by the customer, like putting DEF or gas/petrol in the diesel tank.
Just happened to me yesterday. 47,000 on a 2020. No hint of regen issues. Most times watched my regen gauge and it never was above 40-50% when regening. Rarely ever drive the truck under 60 mph. Tow a trailer pretty regularly. Then all of a sudden Filter Full Power Cut Warning came up. My regen gauge turned red and showed 100% full. Seems every other site I look at warranty covered it, then the next one warranty didn't cover it. 5 year 50,000 Emission Warranty from Ram says "Exhaust System" and "Exhaust Pipes (between exhaust manifold and last catalyst)". I would say this falls in between them. The non-covered ones said $3-4000 job. OUCH!
Great video I just bought the same 2019 ram truck look forward to more videos if you work on those again…very detailed and a big help I just subscribed…thanks 👍🏻
DEF goes in the blue hole not the green one. And use hot shot secret additives for a cleaner burn and internals, less regens and engine will last longer.
Why don't you give us a close up how those connections come off? For a first time doing it I have no idea how to remove wire connections and can't hardly what's going on up there.
I liked the video . I learned the name of the part scr where it connects to the pipe that goes over the rear end. Its leaking I'm assuming def fluid. Its tight . Is too much def getting sprayed ? Thanks for the video
30k miles on a 2020 ram2500 and we have the same problem. Come on dodge take a bit more pride in what your selling for $100k. Nothing like a pre 2000s car before all of this nonsense!
Have 2022 ram 3500 I take to the dealer remplace egr some stuff I drive out the dealer about 30min now the take back because check engine light the told me dpf is bad needs replaced charging me 3000dlls. You think the dodge dealer where I taking my truck are scammers!!!
The 2019 -2022 ram 6.7 engines developed a knocking noise you need a NEW ENGINE this new cummings are a new design are junk the tappets on the cam shaft are going out 7of 10 trucks are going bad bad and you need parts from dealership NO after market parts are available you looking at 14000$$ to rebuild

By any chance was it covered by warranty?

Just ran into the v band clamp issue on mine, try using a crowfoot , extension and ratchet, much easier and can get some torque on it
It’s a pleasure to watch someone that knows what they’re doing!! Where are you located? I would love to bring my ram to you for repairs.

What sites are you looking at that are showing warranty covering this part? Would this be considered a manufacturer defect?

Could it be contaminated with coolant from a leaky EGR system.

Top job keep 'em coming.
Love the video what is the total cost new DPF an putting it in? An where are you located
Just curious, how many miles on the truck? And great job. You made it look super easy.
46k
Thanks for the reply. That seems like low miles.

how long scr filter lasts ?
How many plugs, by location, are there?
I have a question if the SCR is bad will it cause the exhaust filter 100% full to display on the screen on a 2014 ram 5500 ??
i got a code today, "Particulate filter regeneration frequency bank 1" - P2459. can u help? Ram 5500 6.7 cummins
It happened the same to me a week ago.
Could be the DPF pressure sensor.
Still on the Dealer waiting for the part.
2022 Ram 3500 , only 78000 miles.
I had the same code on my 2022. Ended up replacing the dpf.
Works better if it all falls off
Is a 2018 DPF exhaust system compatible for a 2015?
2015 and 2018 should be same, in 2019 is when they changed the design
Another reason to delete this system
Where you are located ???
How much coast the replacement?
i'd say in the 2k+ range. The filter new is $1800.

I’m no mechanic so just guessing but to me it looks like maybe def was put in the diesel tank.
I'm thinking the same I was putting Def in my truck and the hose came off and some went in where the diesel goes. Now I have that code
Nope
Good day sir, please how do I reach you?
