My son went a two year college in the 10th grade. (not a genius) Took his SAT's and ACT's, but had no HS diploma. Graduated with his two year associates degree in mathematics in the fall semester and graduated in the spring semester from High School. There are always alternatives. Just don't take no as the only answer.
Before my last year in high school started I got a new convertible Mercedes. I didn’t go to class one day, and I failed 12th grade. I went to a community college and told them I graduated high school. I aced their placement test, and made the deans list for two semesters. I then transferred to a top 10 nationwide university, and they didn’t checked my high school records or verify I had 1400 SAT as I stated either. I graduated undergrad and went to a top 5 nationwide grad school. It’s all a joke, if you present yourself well no one will question your credentials. Just say you graduated and no one will check. It did come back on me once when I was trying to get a top secret government clearance. They asked me how did graduate undergrad and graduate school without having a high school diploma.
Hi got my ged in 2021 and now my local community College is saying that I have to take placement test is there any way I can skip my placement test?
Why in the world would you take the GED? Did it give you anything ? No.
i live in italy. couldn't finish HS because of heavy bullying and eating disorder, i am now 27, with a dead end job and depressed as hell. I wish i was american to be honest. Homeschooling here is not a thing, nor getting into college without a diploma.. you can't even be a janitor without it

I’m very interested in this! We’re in North West Indiana and my son wants to be an engineer. He is unschooling and is slightly ADHD & Dyslexic. He will definitely need to go an alternative route to college. I like the community college route. With the duel enrollment, did those credits go towards high school credit or only towards college credit?

Your son probably don’t have all of that, kids today are lazy. You just need a man in the house to lay the law down. You’re pretty enough to get a man, but you need to be receptive to the idea. Without a man in the house that boy will never become a man.
