      @@Back2TheBike We all good.. we also have had covid symptoms mid January, but fairly mild.. was lucky enough to get out on the bike last week as I have been deemed an essential.worker, so had a 50 mile round trip.. it felt good, but very wierd, everything so calm and quiet. Have a good Easter weekend. Neil.

    Any set up that reduces your reliance on charging batteries has to be a good thing. Pleased to hear you and your family are ok. All is good here in Aus, lovely autumn weather and the curve is
    levelling off thank heaven. Enjoy the remainder of Easter and working on your bike.

      Back2TheBike Hi Neil, we seem to call it level 3 restrictions, need to stay home unless going out to work, shop for necessities or exercise. When out we need to avoid gathering in groups, and maintain social distancing rules and are reminded regularly to wash our hands with soap and water. Our numbers recently are giving some reason for cautious optimism in the future but I think it will be a while before state borders are opened and even longer before our international border is open. Any measure that saves lives gets my full support. Family and friends are all coping well thanks 🙏

    Hi Neil, glad to see you are keeping yourself occupied while stuck at home. I've been digging through old footage to make new videos. I think I'd be inclined to get a USB socket to mount at the front of the bike on the handlebars and then use a really short lead between it and the camera. You could lift the tank a little and thread a cable through. The way you currently have it the long cable will flap about on the tank. It is surprising just how much damage this can do to the paintwork. Especially on those days when the bike isn't spotlessly clean. Keep safe.

    • @Back2TheBike

      Problem is you cant get a short 90 degree USB C Mike, so I'd end up with miles of cable flapping about on the bars. I may adapt it but need to road test it properly! Hope alls well with you and yours. I note here that IAM have been approached to help deliver prescriptions to folk who are locked down. Need to have full IAM pass, panniers and no Covid19. Is that happening where you are?

    Handy bits of kit mate and good to hear that you guys are all well - being able to power your camera off the bike is going to save a lot of messing about - I used to run an Autocom Intercom on the Triumph for the long haired general and it certainly made life easy and you know everything's running at full power - stay safe my friend and I'll see you out on the road soon :-)

    Glad to hear that you and yours are doing ok in these troubling times Neil. I'm keeping my head down (63 with a couple of minor underlying things) for a bit. But.... not being able to get out for a ride is torture even if it is the right thing to do. Consoled myself by buying a load of Denali bits for the RT which I am slowly (I,e, stringing it out to make it last) fitting. Stay home and stay safe mate.

      Hi Kevin, hopefully we can get back on the road soon. In Sweden motorcyclists can ride, and I don't really see why we can't. With minimal traffic we're even less likely to have a prang. Hope your mods go well :-)

    Hi Neil, so glad you and your family recovered from this deadly disease. Interesting how you've approached this USB project. If you can manage to get the cable under the petrol tank it'll be so much tidier. I'm guessing that by loosening the rear tank bolt and removing what looks like two allen bolts on the front, the tank will pivot up. This is how my tank on my FJR lifted allowing me to route all the cables from my battery to a Denali Powerhub 2 which supplies power to my USB Ports under my rear seat to which i had a USB type C cable to my Drift Ghost 4K camera. The good thing about the Denali you can connect up to six devices and choose to have powered permanently or Ignition controlled all of which frees up excessive connections on the battery terminals. Hope that gives you some thought as, I'm sure, you're as much a gadget freak as I am:)

    • @Back2TheBike
      @Back2TheBike 4 роки тому

      Hi Bill, sounds scary to me 👾 If I had run it under the tank it wouldn't have been long enough to reach the camera, involving either a joint or some kind of soldering to another length of USB C. The cable would still be visible, albeit a slightly shorter length running from the front of the tank. It all tucks away neatly when not in use too, but thanks for the suggestion 😊

    We'll ALL be back to the bike after this current situation, I may even have to take a CBT to get me back into the swing of biking :) I suspect my new bike will be the lowest milage one year old bike if this lot carries on much longer. Anyway hope to see you wobbling along the left lane again soon, cheers :D
