In 1969 i was ten years old on a train in Germany and this song came over the speakers. I was stunned by its beauty. I never knew the name of it and now, at 64 years old, i hear it again with tears running down my face..
I had the same reaction. I could swear it is being suppressed becasue it is so uplifting.
@@saladdays180s9 I wonder brother🤔
In 1969 I was 2 y o , somewhere in México . Then it was one of my mom’s songs . They use to play this melody for a Quinceañera party in many houses by our colony . Quinceañera is like the “ Sweet 16 in US for girls ( in México is 15 year old girls festivity ) Wonderful sweet years ! Greetings from 🇺🇸🇲🇽

Oh my good ess!! I feel the same way!!

Yep 😆😆
Yep me The Last Stop in Yuma County .

What ever happened to these songs? They were so popular at one time, but have all virtually disappeared. Love is Blue has got to be one of the best. But there were so many others. I miss them. I miss the days when they were played. My life was all ahead of me then.
And if you're reading this, I'm guessing you might feel the same.
They still exist, people are still composing them; but you have to look for them, as they're not part of the Approved Marketable Trends anymore.
Don't grieve for things that aren't dead. Just seek them out.
Ironically, many are in video games these days
They are still here....
They never be forgotten. 💙
If you do not mind me asking, what other songs do you have in mind? I like this song and I would like to listen to more.
Im 57 Born In 1967 Heard This Song At 16 Years Of Age Didn't Know what Called But Knew It When I Heard So Glad To Finally Get Name And Not Disappointed We Need More Music Like This
This is probably the most beautiful instrumental ever from the 60's!
Concordo contigo
Loved this song since the first time I heard it in 8th grade typing class. The teacher put the LP on to type to.

My dad is no longer here with me and i know he love this song so very much, My father my strength and my life this song is for you
This song is awesome and soothing I am glad I can still listening to it in 2024 ❤
It reminds me my youth too.
Things were so pure and simple.
Nowadays the youngsters can't recognize good music.
Poor people.
It was a great song to skate dance to!
Good music isn't the only thing they can't recognise these days
Glad to be born in the 60's
This tune makes me STOP....close my eyes and go back to have a look around! I smile and shed a few tears for those who were with me then but are now waiting for me in Heaven. I'm not sad...but rather glad we all could share the air for awhile! Great memories....good and bad, happy and sad. I'd not change a thing either. Reading all the great comments in here confirms what I always thought...we had it pretty good being kids. As an Adult Kid in 2024, I'm still smiling and strutting...having survived my Cheech & Chong Days was indeed a miracle🤣 Stay Strong and Groovy and pass on the good vibes when ever possible! 👋
Amen
I was 18 years old and recently married when I dedicated this song to my husband over the radio. That was 1975. Now that he's past on I think of him and better times. May you rejoice with the Lord. Til we meet again.
Yes dear, until you meet again.
Till you meet again. ❤💔❤🩹❤.
🙏🙏🙏🙏
A thumbs down shows their immaturity and ignorance.
Cierto you right
You are right !!!! 😮😢
Maybe it just shows their sadness.
Non, leur presbytie.
Yeah, but they will love some rap crap, cussing about gangster life, etc.
Music is universal. Real music that is. It stirs the soul. It inspires. Its a connection where your heart
Can touch the heart of God in a canticle of worship, or a cry to Him from your pain.
Those that give this masterpiece a thumbs down are mad that there is no vulgar language
Your right it is a classic 0:58 😮😢
The good news is no-one seems to be giving it a thumbs down.

Yeah, there was one person who didn't like it. That is why I responded. Maybe they deleted.
I remember hearing this song at the doctors office when I was 5 years old. I was with my mom and it was 1970. I know this song is from 1968. It reminds me when my parents were very young,I was young, the Vietnam war was happening. I would see the televised about the war but I didn’t understand what was going. It’s a beautiful song…a song I would like at my funeral ❤
The love is blue, and it reminds me that when I was in high school 1968, for me in those years, it was the most happiest life. When I listened to this music, it reminded me of when I was a teenager.
I loved this song as a child and I still love it today. Love is Blue...My love left me 7 yrs. ago. I miss him terribly. 😢

Psychedelic? It's beautiful but far from psychedelic...

My mother bought this at Woolworths. She knew the whole family loved it!
It was just last weekend, this song came on the radio and I said to someone, "I could listen to this for an hour straight." All I need do here is hit 'play' twice.
It's a work of Art 👍 😁
Such lovely music Reminds me of better days .
My betters days are 80-90. i,m born 1970.
Absolutely
Yes those wonderful days
I love this classic. I first heard it in 1974, in the military on a radio program. It took awhile to find the recording but ive loved it ever since I first heard it. I kept it all these years and never tire of listening. God gave gifts to men. Imagine how wonderful and merciful He is. I can't wait to meet him. Imagine something this beautiful down here, what being with God will be.
His love will flow through every fiber of your newly transformed being, that’s how it will feel
Es muy cierto
Atheists think evolution created man. They think if there is enough years, monkeys can write literature like Shakespeare.

Love this song, just makes me happy and love every thing around me. I could listen to it all day. Grateful for this extended version
Yes, it's nearly 2 a.m. as I listen, smile, feel nostalgic and ...well you know.
One of most beautiful instrumental hits ever..... spiritual, pasional, nostalgia
I remember my dad playing this song in a LP Best of 1968. He has left an exceptional collection of LPs.
This song reminds me of my childhood so many memories
This takes me back to a time in my life when everything seemed to be going right for me. I had a good job & money. I drove and raced a Jaguar & a Corvette Sting Ray. I had a really cute girlfriend. And this song was part of the soundtrack of my life. What more could a young guy ask for?
And the club scene in Georgetown. The sixties were quite a time.
Those were the days. Beautiful
I was 10 years old listening to the radio station WAKY in Louisville, Ky, when I first heard this all-time classic. Timeless music from the 60s, it doesn't get any better than this. Thank you for sharing this classic song.
I was 14 years when this song came out in 1968. It was number one on the charts, seemed like forever.
I was 11 and loved it along with Classical Gas which won the Grammy for that year.
I too was 14 in 1968. Was camping next to a beach during school break and someone taught me the first 2 guitar chords of this song - Am and D 😎.
I was 15, turned 16 just before Christmas…this was beautiful music, classic in my mind…I sometimes listen to this just to go to sleep.
Whenever I listen to this I cry... I used to listen to this melody in my mom's car when I was a kid. It brings so many memories of all of those loved ones that we've lost over the years...
Has the same effect on me right now. Loved it so much from when I first heard it. I'd have been 10 years old when life so much simpler. Almost everyone I knew then has gone, so your comment made me feel pretty emotional.

Me encanta esta música .Todos los temas de este músico son buenos ❤
I feel exactly the same. I think about my Mom, who I lost in 2018 a lot, but any music from 60's is just so emotional. This song and Theme from Man and a Woman😪.
Me too my friend. I heard it on a train in Germany in the 60s..I was just a boy. I cried then and I cried just now hearing it again after 50 years..
Music is the Universal language of Peace and Love
Work of Art 💪😁👌2023

Thanks alot i found this instrumental. At this moment, my wife & i are having a coffee together while listening to this music & it's very lovely.
7 years when I hear this for the first time back there in 1968 . As a child I like this very much and I am a lucky man to have this in my album-collection . Now I am almost 62 and listen to this masterpiece several times a year and everytime its amazing.............Thanks Mr. Paul Mauriat !
It does bring me back tons memories, indeed. Now, i am 57years still love this master piece. First hear this in a cinema before the show in Hong Kong.
The most beautiful instrumental ever written. The harpsichord is from heaven!
I absolutely agree, Michael Pawlowicz!
Yes i do
17:15 ❤😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Not to mention the Harp in the background too.
This is outstanding…..but, let’s get real…..the Percy Faith version of “Theme from Summer Place” (1960) was #1 Billboard hit gor that year and was voted “best instrumental ever”……just sayin’!
A touch of nostalgia that’s for sure,, a beautiful piece of music that will forever live in our hearts and soul forever.
That was composed by André Popp, 1967, and, one year later, Paul Mauriat reorchestrated it, adding the harpsichord. With the violins, plus that harpsichord, it became a worldwide success, because it somehow managed to reconcile those who were strictly supporting classical music, and a younger generation that was more fond of "easy listening" stuff.
I know, for instance, that my grandmother, who had been educated with that extreme respect for classical composers, immediately liked this when she heard it. She spoke of the serenity that's in this music piece, and mentioned how much it brought her a feeling of peace and quietness.
It's clearly something brilliantly composed, because some of my friends (from Morocco, from Argentina, from eastern Africa and from China) were unanimous about it. It probably manages to lift up everybody's soul, whatever the cultural background may be.
For ages, I've been considering it's too "soft", too syrupy to my taste. Now, that I've grown older myself, I was surprised how much, when I unexpectedly heard it, some months ago, on a radio station that's specialized in oldies while I was driving, by night, it made me feel serene. I just looked it up, some days later, I sat down and truly enjoyed the peaceful moment.
So, yes, thanks Mr Popp, thanks Mr Mauriat, this I think has what is required for remaining a classic, it would be a shame if it went forgotten in the future. There STILL will be people, no doubt, who will appreciate it.
Nice, I also created a play list of his popular songs:

@@Relaxation-Clips thank you.

Very well stated
I was 10 years old when the music was released and this beautiful song has been special to me ever since. I used to drop everything and just listen in a sort of rapture if I heard it on the radio (which was rare enough, even in the late 60s, so all the more special). Despite the lush strings (which ought to be schmaltzy) and the brass (which ought to be breezily upbeat), it manages to have an undercurrent of sweet sadness that brings tears to my eyes even now. Judging by other people's comments here, this emotional reaction isn't uncommon. Maybe that's also because of the feeling of peace and quietness you mention. When I was unhappy at boarding school I'd have Love is Blue playing in my head as a sort of soothing balm.
This arrangement is particularly gorgeous.

Tonight was the 1st time i heard the extended version and i was 6 years old when the song was released in 1968. I would hear the shortened version on the radio and hearing it again took me back to my childhood. Feeling blessed to hear it again!
I was also 6 years old in 1968. I remember it used to play on TV in New Zealander between programmes to a back drop of a cliff top view of waves rolling in on a coast line.
Hi , I thought that a piano version was released in 66 , not really sure though . Cheers!
I remember it being played in dept stores. As a child of course. What a time it has been. Everything has changed but it still remains the same.
