The last scene of Elio sitting by the fireplace and listening to "Vision of Gideon ..." crushed my heart. It shattered into a million pieces. I will not forget about this film for a long time, it is still in the back of my head.

I ended up dropping out due to so much stress and not knowing what I wanted to do with my life . I look back at this and can’t believe how much time flew and I still haven’t achieved anything . SPOILERS!! don't continue to read if you dont want to be spoiled of the whole movie. for those that wish to know what the whole film was about and what's truly happening in the video, it's about a young Italian/french boy named elio that spends every summer with his parents at their Italian home as this film takes place in Italy. every summer the father of elio takes in a student of his to teach for the summer and this is where oliver comes in to play, the American man that elio soon will fall for. in the beginning elio dislikes oliver as he comes off as rude with his American habit of saying ''later!'' and elio finds that a rude way of saying goodbye, elio is also conflicted as everyone in the town seems to like oliver expect for himself. elio also has a "girlfriend" or a "girl fling" that he will meet occasionally and that we rarely see in the film, elio begins to later have feelings for oliver after spending a while together and showing him around the town. elio confessed subtly one day and oliver tells him not to say anything because he thinks elio isnt sure of his feelings towards oliver. a lot goes on in the film but cutting to the chase, later on they begin to experiment with eachother, most specifically elio. there comes a point where they had made love and oliver tells elio " call me by your name and ill call you by mine " and that's the turning point in their relationship where they truly are sure of their love for eachother. they waste many days together and fall deeper in love and before they knew it, the summer was almost over. before oliver had to officially leave for America, he had to go to another town (I forgot the reason) then he'd leave Italy from there. the parents of elio in the film, are seen as very clever and accepting. they know of what's going on between their son and oliver, so the mother asks for elio to stay and accompany oliver during the last few days that he will stay in Italy. during the get away, they spend more time together and create more timeless memories. when it comes time for oliver to leave, oliver reminisces on what could've been and what should've been, he thinks to if elio and him have a possible future together. although he doesn't say it, anyone call tell from the emotions on his face and act. the next day, oliver hugs elio a last goodbye as he goes into the train. elio stands there and waits for the train to fully pass, wishing oliver had stayed and wishing that everything was somehow a dream. he calls for his mother to pick him up and he silently cries on the car ride back to their home. fast forward, a few months later in winter elio gets a call. it's hanukkah (elio and oliver are jewish) and as elio answers the call, to his surprise it's oliver. oliver breaks the news to him that he's getting married and elio is heartbroken. more heartbroken than he was when oliver had first left him. the beautiful film comes to an end with elio sitting in front of the fireplace and silently crying. the film is so beautiful and heartbreaking and i hope that you can all watch it. there's a lot more that goes on than what i've just summarized.
Unfortunately,the end of this movie is something predictable.We always know that summer love stories come one day to an end and we cant accept it.Its not fair... 😭 💔

SPOILERS!! don't continue to read if you dont want to be spoiled of the whole movie.
for those that wish to know what the whole film was about and what's truly happening in the video, it's about a young Italian/french boy named elio that spends every summer with his parents at their Italian home as this film takes place in Italy. every summer the father of elio takes in a student of his to teach for the summer and this is where oliver comes in to play, the American man that elio soon will fall for. in the beginning elio dislikes oliver as he comes off as rude with his American habit of saying ''later!'' and elio finds that a rude way of saying goodbye, elio is also conflicted as everyone in the town seems to like oliver expect for himself. elio also has a "girlfriend" or a "girl fling" that he will meet occasionally and that we rarely see in the film, elio begins to later have feelings for oliver after spending a while together and showing him around the town. elio confessed subtly one day and oliver tells him not to say anything because he thinks elio isnt sure of his feelings towards oliver. a lot goes on in the film but cutting to the chase, later on they begin to experiment with eachother, most specifically elio. there comes a point where they had made love and oliver tells elio " call me by your name and ill call you by mine " and that's the turning point in their relationship where they truly are sure of their love for eachother. they waste many days together and fall deeper in love and before they knew it, the summer was almost over. before oliver had to officially leave for America, he had to go to another town (I forgot the reason) then he'd leave Italy from there. the parents of elio in the film, are seen as very clever and accepting. they know of what's going on between their son and oliver, so the mother asks for elio to stay and accompany oliver during the last few days that he will stay in Italy. during the get away, they spend more time together and create more timeless memories. when it comes time for oliver to leave, oliver reminisces on what could've been and what should've been, he thinks to if elio and him have a possible future together. although he doesn't say it, anyone call tell from the emotions on his face and act. the next day, oliver hugs elio a last goodbye as he goes into the train. elio stands there and waits for the train to fully pass, wishing oliver had stayed and wishing that everything was somehow a dream. he calls for his mother to pick him up and he silently cries on the car ride back to their home. fast forward, a few months later in winter elio gets a call. it's hanukkah (elio and oliver are jewish) and as elio answers the call, to his surprise it's oliver. oliver breaks the news to him that he's getting married and elio is heartbroken. more heartbroken than he was when oliver had first left him. the beautiful film comes to an end with elio sitting in front of the fireplace and silently crying. the film is so beautiful and heartbreaking and i hope that you can all watch it. there's a lot more that goes on than what i've just summarized.

But I had to cry for two weeks when I thought about cmbyn. So please watch it. You won't regret it. It's sadly not on netflix but you can watch it on amazon prime.
