A highlight version of the Holodomor commemoration in Calgary - a manmade famine-genocide of the Ukrainian people during 1932-1933, organized and executed by the Soviet regime during Stalin's reign. Soviet, now russian, weapons of starvation killed millions of innocent civilians - men, women and children. Thousands of families. Today we call Ukraine our home. Today the russian attacks are horrific atrocities and have caused immense suffering, fear and heartbreak. On November 26, 2022 we peacefully protest during the commemorating event through the language of poems, music and dance, which shows respect for their past, acknowledgement of the present, and the hope for a better future. We feel incredibly grateful for the support of Calgarians and the international community towards Ukraine. Thank you, Mayor Jyoti Gondek, and others, for joining us in commemorating this terrible famine-genocide which took place in 1932-1933.
Скорочена версія вшанування Голодомору в м. Калгарі, організованого та здійсненого радянським режимом в Україні над українським народом протягом 1932-1933 років під час правління Сталіна. Радянська, а тепер російська, зброя голоду вбила мільйони невинних мирних жителів - чоловіків, жінок і дітей. Тисячі сімей. Сьогодні ми звемо Україну своїм домом. Сьогодні російські напади є жахливими звірствами і спричинили величезні страждання, страх і розбиті серця. 26 листопада, 2022 року ми мирно протестуємо під час пам’ятного заходу мовою віршів, музики та танцю, що демонструє повагу до свого минулого, визнання сьогодення та надію на краще майбутнє.
