I give Donnie mad props fr acknowledging Lynette Hawkins-Stephens contribution to Gospel...she is so underrated!! I always looked forward to a new hawkins release because i knew there would be a song that Lynette would just rip to shreds..lol All of Walter's songs are as timely as they are timeless...RIP I pray that the last Family tour that took place in 07 (?) will be made available for DVD release sometime soon... God bless.
Lynette I miss you so much! I'll always remember Walter's hospitality when he threw our "Raisin" cast a party at his house. I grew up listening to the Hawkins. They blessed me in so many ways.
RIP Edwin Hawkins! August 29, 1943 - January 15, 2018. We will miss you!
