I’ve been thinking alot about doing this as a career. For education there are multiple options, and i decided that I *want* to go to FSU where I can get a masters degree in piano technology. I like that option because it’s preceded by a performance degree, which is something I want to do as well. But that’s still a ways into the future.

Well done to discover the buzz! I have a 7 foot Kawai RX6 grand and the lowest G sounds lacking in sonority. It sounds really different to the Fsharp below it. I’ve voiced the hammer but made no difference. The G in question is the first of the duo strings in the bass midrange of the frame. Maybe I should harden the hammer? Provided there’s no ringing sound ..

Thank you for this video. Last year I bought a piano from a private seller. The piano was purchased new from a dealer in 2015. Before I purchased it I hired a piano technician to inspect it for major problems. He said it was out of tune and felt that the owner probably did not tune the piano since she had it as her son quit playing after a year. So when he piano got to me I expected to have to tune it several times to get it right. It’s been 10 months now and it’s been tuned 3 times. The last piano tuner told me he couldn’t find anything structurally wrong with the piano either but that he also found it was unevenly out of tune. He said he would come back in a week to do some fine tuning or another full tune if necessary. I notice what you described as strings of the same key are sometimes at different pitches so the sound of that note “warbles”. Can you tell me what you think is going on? I hope it’s just a matter of a few more tunings to get it back to how it sounded in the showroom new. I love the piano but I hope it’s not somehow a lemon that no one can figure out.

I think you would be really good piano technician who willing to do the extra inspection even though you are just being called solely for the tuning job.
Yesterday I did the third annual tuning session with the second piano technician and yea it's my fault for just running chromatic scale on the keyboard and didn't do the octave/fifth/third etc. harmony check, and I'm frustrated for my lazed final inspection before letting the technician went home and call it a day.
Now I have flatten C while it supposed to be tuned and shouldn't out of tuned, and also buzzing sizzling sound in the central C region, oh my.
I'm gonna to hire third piano technician for my old used Kawai KST-5, hopefully I could get local Kawai authorised piano technician to do great job on the old piano.
By the way I didn't call the first piano technician that I hired before when my mum bought me the fourth hand used old piano because the keyboard were neglected even the technician noticed but he chose to do nothing, not even advising me on what should I do or what option I could take and he just said 'Oh for the price you paid does serve justice for this old piano you get' while I didn't know anything about regulation or tuned up or service? =(
And I learnt about piano regulation from the second technician I found online.
Anyway the first and second piano technicians aren't Kawai authorised technicians, and I wonder local authorised Kawai would send their authorised technicians to old used piano?
    Hmmm
