@@cosmicgamingunlimited the die size matters with how you apply thermal paste. For todays larger cpu dies (on main computers); the "dot" method is just not enough coverage usually. You will need to do everything in the video PLUS removing the screen. You will need to heat the adhesive with a hair dryer for about 2-3 minutes before removing the screen. Gently pry off the screen with a plastic expunger tool. If you are gentle you can reuse the adhesive. If not, you will need to buy new. Don’t overheat the screen, it will burn the oled and cause your screen to be brown.
When I did the test, only one stick was really bad. If you are in this situation and only play retro games, you should be good. I stream games to this device and I couldn't select certain items from weapon wheels in pal world until I did the replacement. Yes! The only issue is when playing modern games like COD and you want to click the stick while pushing forward, the stick will not let you physically click in. For most emulation this is not an issue.
Switch style sticks. Switch sticks are not Hall effect and prone to stick drift. The RG556 comes with poorly made Hall effect sticks. I replaced with higher quality ones.
