19:55 "Perhaps the Soviet Union could have limped on a few more years."
I could go on about economic theory forever, but it is clear that by the 1980's, the Soviet Union was experiencing diminishing returns on so many levels. One of many facets of that, is shortly after Bush (jr.) entered the White House, he had a number of Ford Crown Victorias sent to Moscow to replace the underpowered and unreliable police cars that the Russians had in stock. Capitalism has absolutely flourished in Russia. A number of movie reactors here on YT are from former Soviet states and they are grateful to be living free and rejoicing in capitalism (unthinkable just 35 years ago). Andrei, who is from Romania, has a stable of marginally talented, but really cute girl singers here on YT. Since patrons on patreon pay in American and Canadian dollars as well as Euros, and since Andrei very much benefits from the exchange rate, he and his singers are living very well.
I grew up with the Cold War, thinking that it would last forever, but I am grateful that it didn't.

Why do I see this posted after telling Sam/Historic travels in his live stream (the day before this vid is posted),that Mike Brady/ocean liner designs made a video about the Chernobyl disaster???????? Also the animation of the explosion was incorrect, it was the left side of the building.

I was in UK at the time and remember watching the news bulletins tracking the radioactive cloud across Europe
