After struggling with missed shots with the 277, (which is always reviewed as one of the best tech tree tanks), I decided to grind the most accurate gun I could find. Then having filled up my swearbox using the Grille 15, I realised perhaps the grass wasn't greener, and went back to the 277
the 277 was my first ever Tier 10 tank, and despite some of its shortcomings (like the bloody gun depression and inability to sidescrape unless the enemy is a muppet) I have quite a soft spot for it
The problem with it is the fact that it doesn’t lack in accuracy but has bad handling so you basically do need bounty/bond vert stabs, and and improved aiming device if your good enough to not use the improved hardening
@@solyomandras yeah, that’s one of the main reasons I mentioned it, I tried it out and was averaging around 4.6k damage, I’d say it’s good BUT ONLY if your like super unicum or unicum levels of good, the average player will just die and won’t take too much advantage of the IAU over more health
I always joke with my brother that there must be a hidden luck status for the guns in this game, even if some guns have 0.3 acurecy which is very good they seem some times to miss fully aimed shots alot and the 277 is one of these
World of Warships has a stat which determines how likely it is for shells to go into the middle of its dispersion called sigma value, but you also can't really influence the dispersion in this game. But I sometimes have the feeling that WoT has a similar value.
Hi Max, I always enjoy your content mate, and I 100% agree with you about 277. Also, if you're looking for an idea which tank to review, might I suggest the 260? It feels to me like absolutely nobody makes any content about it
These kinds of guides are always appreciated max! Would really love to see my fav tanks in one of these for sure, with these videos this channel is a must watch for every WoT player, both upcoming and seasoned players would definitely get something helpful out of this. 277 I feel like is the best tech tree heavy currently. I 3-marked it on my second account some time ago and honestly, I can't remember the gun misbehaving too much (equipment: Hardening/Stabs/Rammer). It liked derping around sometimes, but all in all, I still found it to be one of the better guns on a tier 10 heavy, mainly because the 340 HEAT-rounds are just that good. Also, for the 7th field mod I took the second option, which makes the gun handling better and sacrifices top-speed, because A) I don't think this tank has the engine power to get up to top speed anyway (I might be wrong about this, not sure), B) I wanted the gun handling to be as good as possible without having to equip 🤮vents🤮 (Hardening superiority; Hardening, or even better, Experimental Hardening, is a must-have on this tank, makes it sooo much more comfortable to play because more track-HP), and C) on the second setup I equipped a turbo instead of Stabs anyway, for CW and maps where I actually really need to be in position fast enough.
why 277 and not is4, is4 have better ammo, better armour.....good accuracy and a lot of riccochet and hold in place line? if you can explain please...many players use this in campaigns , can you explain with respect please?
@@EmilDragonul because the 277 is faster, that's why (and it also has more alpha damage). To shine is todays meta a tank needs to have as many things as possible out of these 6 (in this order): Good turret armor (hullarmor is somewhat irrelevant), speed, good gun depression, good penetration, high alpha damage and decent gun handling. The 277 has 4.5 of those things; Good turret armor, Speed, good penetration and good gun handling (alpha damage is decent, but not really on the "high" end of the spectrum, that's why I give it 0.5 points). The IS-4 has only 3 of those things; good turret armor, good penetration and good gun handling. That's why it isn't considered to be a meta-tank and is a much less popular pick for CW.
I kind of loved the t-10 when first leveling up and was very confused about the 277 not really feeling any stronger. Somehow the gun on the t-10 is soooo much nicer. But still, 277 is one nice tank, even if I do prefer others.
gun handling is pretty good on the 277 its the aim time whats make it feel bad and u decrease it by 10% further with field mods i wouldent recommend touch the field mods with +4 fowards speed this 5% aim time impact the gun massively
we use 277 as a group push in Advances. Everyone uses different setups, but we need the 277 to be as fast as possible. Long range engagements don't happen much in Advances. The reason we keep both AP and HEAT in the tank... is that there are times when the tank your fighting has side skirts, and HEAT has no chance of doing damage, so we must switch to AP to be effective, or your going to get killed. Most of us have turbos, but I don not... I focused on gun handling, like you do, and reload time. So vents, rammer, and stabs, w/ Smooth ride directive. At close range, the stabs seem useless, but it keeps my reticle smaller when firing on the move. I do enjoy the 277, but not at first.
It's the gun that put me off the 277. No prizes for guessing which tank I had to play in clan wars without a chieftain, 907 or 279e in my garage 🙄. I prefer the 5A for its handling. My first tier 10 was the E5. I still have a soft spot for it. It's just out classed by the S Conq
This and the WZ-111-5A kinda end up being the same tank, except the 277 has smaller weakspots on it's turret and the 5A gets a little more gun depression which is why I prefer the 5A, but I know the 277 is more competitive for most people. I'm just a scrub and the gun depression makes the tank more comfortable for me

As far as my experience goes (I've 3 marked the tank as well if that is any credibility), Vert stabs should be enough for the gun to perform consistently. There is such a thing, "a secret development that was accidentally created by the Lekhs from factory number 437". Working name "Didanium". 1) When smelting armor steel, it is necessary to add several "medals and orders" to the molten metal. 2) This "alloy" must be used only on machines with a "digital value" in the name (for example, IC 7) 3) "Buff" works very randomly, but most often "works in critical situations". 4) It is established that, "Buff" additionally adds: 150 mm to armor, 300% to the strength of internal modules, and also creates an "anomalous field", which in turn changes the trajectory of enemy projectiles. 5) The only problem is that the archive of plant number 437 was completely destroyed due to the negligence of the employees.😂😂😂
