Marcus V bubble method

Notice there are still two empty spaces when my camp is “full”...one below the apples and one to the left of the apples. These must be filled before you can bubble and dragons will drop in those spots when you start to fake merge your apples. Wait to make sure those are filled and two of the four spots you create by fake merging are filled before you release the apple onto the items you want to bubble
MV Bubbling: (Named after the discoverer, Marcus V). Make sure you have three (or more) 2x2 mergable items. For example, Golden apple of the Cosmos, or Wanderlust Peaks. I will call them the 'bubbling items' for now. Then, fill up your camp completely, until there are just two empty tiles remaining. Dragons should be saying "no space available!". Then, command your dragons to harvest any item. Whilst they are harvesting, drag one of the 2x2 bubbling items over the other two, till you can see they are about to mege. *Do not let go of the item!* Wait for the dragons to finish harvesting. They will think the 2x2 area opened up by dragging away the bubbling item is available, and will place the items there. Now, move your bubbling item over the items you wish to bubble, and release your finger.
If there are just 2 free spaces, then both the bottom-right and top-right item beside the bubbling item will bubble.
If there is just 1 free space, then only the top-right item beside the bubbling item will bubble.

-You need 3 (2x2) items -here I used the golden apples.
-your camp must be “full” however there will always be two open spaces.
-you’ll pretend to merge the three apples which will open four spaces in your camp because you’ve removed one apple from the camp and holding it to fake merge. This means you have two open spaces from filling your camp and you’re now exposing four more. So, the dragons will need to fill in the two initial empty spaces and then fill two that are exposed by pretending to merge the apples.
-if you have any item out that transforms over time : prism seeds, rain puddles, tree seeds etc, when they transform, they will automatically go into a bubble so keep an eye on this as your dragons will need to fill those spaces as well should they come up.

When I pretend to merge, my dragons don't lay down items. They just hover. Is the problem in my settings?
