As an sso player who misses the old time in sso, is this game worth playing? And how does the VIP payment work? Can you do an one time payment? Or do u have to pay every month?
I definitely recommend you try it but as a free to play player first! You can do almost everything a VIP player can. Star Equestrian is unique in its own fun way especially if you like harder competitions. Unfortunately the horses you get will be randomised, you can't pick what you get. VIP is a one time payment of $50
as an SSO player who has picked up star equestrian (because of you Dashabella, so thank you for exposing me to this game!!) I have a few comparisons (WARNING FOR WAY TOO LONG LOL): 1. SSO is pay-to-play, SE is moderately pay-to-win. In SSO, “pay to win” is literally impossible because all horses (and most equipment) have similar, if not the same stats, so it’s more about aesthetic preference. In SE, the horses with the best growth and stats as well as all equipment are rare drops in a gacha with premium currency and a mobile game-adjacent monetization system. Because of that, id hesitate to rank SE as more consumer-friendly than SSO, which is essentially a paid game with a free demo. 2. When it comes to the world, SE is, imo, much more beautiful and detailed. As well, the rewards for exploring feel much more satisfying. While SSO has more unique lore, if you’re looking to explore a world that feels bountiful and huge, pick up SE! 3. The Horses - SE’s horses are more like units in a gacha game. Some are much better than othees with different star values. Your first horse will likely be a 3-star, which you’ll want to replace quickly, as opposed to SSO, where you are encouraged to bond with each of your horses. However,somehow, the personality system in SE makes the horses feel much more unique than in SSO. 4. Races are much more in-deprh and varied in SE. While SSO has only recently tried more diverse races, SE has from the beginning included show jumping and cross country with unique sustems and playstyles. It’s much more challenging and engaging, so for that alone I’d recommend giving it a try! 5. Bonus: I’m enjoying the ranch decoration mechanic, although it is expensive!
for anyone wondering the vip costs A LOT (50 usd for me, which im unsure if this is js the price for 1-3 months or?) with some of the most basic plus vips things like foaling quest, accs, dmds every week, and some other things for plus items on events💀i havent gotten it yet because of this/i dont think its worth it if you dont grind/play or have time to do every day, its not pay to win but if you wanted 1 specific horse/coat from a breed itd take you awhile to get it considering how you get them from the gacha roll thing w % chances ect, though if you stack up doing events and placing on the leaderboard or doing weekly clubs for prizes n stuff and youll make 1-4k dmds a week (depending on how often your on) and your chances w the chests/how high you place will change on how much you get (chance to get horses/tack from this too) in short not worth it in my opinion since the game is still in progress and has many bugs/sometimes events are unplay able which is another reason why i havent gotten vip its something im saving till end game though when im finished w the mains story depending on when they will finish the full map for story content but the game itself is good (besides lag depending on the time of day you play) and is like a revamp/updated verson of their other horse games i believe if they do it right this could become the next sso game, they js need to fix bugs, lag, model clipping into tack, and maybe some new race events for multiplayer and it'd be set (to compare how easy though it is to get horses vs other games id give it 7/10 if you save your dmds and use them smartly it doesnt feel money hungry unlike other games) id say if they had more content to offer vip would be worth it buying from start of the game, but id rather save my money for smth thats fully finished w game content before i drop a whole 50 bucks yk cus i could buy preused rdr2 game w that😭
Not yet, only the area is available. No story aside the minor quest from the foal quest line. Bronco should be available to both paid and VIP players when the story update drops.
except for the vip subscription, most of the systems like getting tack or horses is a gambling system that isn’t guaranteed, even at higher stakes. don’t put real money into it imo
I think it depends. If you really enjoy SE as a game and can see yourself playing for a long time, then I can suggest the VIP membership for the daily gems and bonuses. Gem purchases are extremely expensive compared to other games and I personally can't vouch for them. If you have the extra money to spend and don't mind then go for it. If you can't see yourself playing the game for long then I wouldn't suggest investing at all. The game can still be fun as a free-to-play player.
tbh i kinda think this game is a rippof starstable. Like no hate im just saying my opinion. I preffer starstable but with the vip its kinda better becouse you have almost everything and in starstable its like only 3 areas :(
