    Awesome work Bro. Years ago I traveled through Jordan and found them to be kind and hospital people as well.
    Great commentary on Geoff. He literally is a man who could save the world. If permaculture principles were implemented on a grander scale (macroµ) the transformation will be amazing 🌏💚✌

      Thanks Stuart! One of the most eye opening lessons Geoff taught me is that the world can accommodate another billion or two people IF they are permaculturalist. That lesson always gives me hope :)

    Does the showcased vegetation, said trees and shrubs, grow capably only in the area and elevation of the Dead Sea or across Jordan's regional landscape?

      Kizarat They have the potential to regreen any desert worldwide! Although it is imperative to choose your desert hardy pioneer plants in accordance to the needs of the soil. Creating shade and organic material from chop and drops is the main objective!

    I wonder if it's possible to harvest the salt from the Tamerisk. That would be interesting.

    Man, I love Geoff Lawton, and his (his) videos are amazing. This video - which, I've watched 27 seconds of so far - is by someone who has ADD - I heard a bang when he walked into Geoff's place, and now there's some insane music and the scenes are edited together, I'm not going to try and be accurate here, like 4 scenes per second. Fuck, dude, calm down, would be my advice, but maybe your audience likes this shit. I'm going back in, hoping to see Geoff talking for more than a second a shot. I guess 9:00 minutes worth would be unlikely.

      Hey, Lulu. Sorry, that was my impression, but I stuck with it. I watched 3 of your vids. Not that it matters what I thought, but I see it's kind of your schtick (spelling?). I watched the seed bombing one - it's just silly but super positive. Hey, hats off for the work you're doing and sharing! I don't think we need to all like everything everyone is doing.

      This is hilarious - we both criticized Lulu and he replied civily to both of us, and we both apologized. Hilarious. I think it's just your style, Lulu, it's pretty playful. Geoff's all like let me show you how to create a paradise - you know, forget about time travel to an earlier time - we can heal and repair the Earth right now. We can create an harmonious ecosystem, oh yeah, and it will feed people too. It looks like Lulu's into the same stuff, and studying with Geoff and doing the work too, he's just, I don't know, I watched his seed bombing video and it's so over the top absurd, that I finally realized maybe he's just being silly. Like, maybe?, I dunno, he's laughing at the music he's chosen? I don't know. Don't pretend to understand, but good work in diplomacy!

      Hey Axxess Mundi! If you're talking about the theme song, that's a mix of my failed hip hop career mixed with some recycled rhyming skills. If you're talking about the next song thats Warni Warni by Omar Souleyman :)

      Thanks for editing your comment. Sorry about the soundtrack! I was really new to the editing game and stuffed up. The problem is, If I delete it and reupload the episode it won't be incorporated into UA-cam's new algorithm therefore the important information won't reach the amount of people that it is today. I will have to take the negative criticism on the chin in exchange for positive reach of people in need of this knowledge and learn my lesson for future episodes. Thanks for the feedback

    Please don't take this in a negative way it's meant well. After all, I gave you a liked & had "Subscribed" your channel who can ask for more. You started with loud music. It's not awful its volume is just too high, why? I had to turn mine down. Next, your talking is secondary high, as when you get to Geoff Lawton which is the main subject of it all, your low volume is just unacceptable, I had to turn it up. After all, the title was about "green desert w/Geoff Lawton", so, you know it should not be All-about-you, even though I know you're trying to promote your channel. What's worse? I'm blasted with your loud music at the end cause my volume was already up trying to listen to what he had to say. OK, no pun intended, if no one says anything you'll never know. Take care.

      Hey thanks for the feedback! Yes the sound levels have come up a few times over the years and it was my beginners stage using final cut pro. The video is also part of a longer series of my experience interning for Geoff at the greening the desert site to give people the full picture. Some people only want to hear Geoff talk and I understand that. Thanks again for the feedback 😁

    So all ya need is a bunch of water to grow an oasis in the desert

    • @lulusperch1742
      @lulusperch1742  6 років тому

      Moreso the ability to hold on to and harvest the rain that does fall onto the desert. This is achieved by collecting roof run off, contour swaling the garden, reusing grey water from bathrooms and kitchens, accurate irrigation, and sufficient mulching and drought hardy pioneer plants to create shade and prevent evaporation. Anyone can import a bunch of water to grow an oasis, but only some harvest and manage it efficiently. Thanks for your comment!
