As a Filipino i feel proud whenever i watched this kind of videos, showing the world our hospitality, trying hard to speak english to communicate with foreigners last but not the least this video shows that Filipinos in a ghetto or slum or squatter you may see but we value education , we try to reach a high educational attainment as much as we could as a result is our ability to communicate in english even if its not as perfect as english speaking foreigners do.
I love the charisma of Master Ryan. 👌 He simply showed true Filipino hospitality, so proud of him. Stay safe & healthy as you explore our country. ❤️🇵🇭
it's cool how you visit the neighborhoods too instead of just the typical tourist spots. you really get to immerse yourself in the culture and with the people that way
My wife wants to come to this place soo bad but I made up a lot of excuses saying the place is dangerous. Seeing it now makes me regret my decision. I will definitely come and check this place with my wife on my next vacation. Thank you for this!
Second hand experiences from people who tell you its dangerous because they got told by somebody its dangerous, is never a good way. Some will also only tell that because they think you might get a bad impression of the country and think poorly about people in such enviroments and would try to keep tourists in Makati, BCG and the big tourist destinations just because of that - yet, the real treasure of the philippines is mostly found in the regions they are afraid of that it make you think poorly about them. And when it comes to first hand experiences, I have to say, whenever I heard them, it was people who waved around enough pesos to feed a whole family for years in the open, which might tempt even good people - or it was some drunken aggressive foreigners, especially those who come to the country of specific reasons. So, thats another thing.
@@i-am-your-consciencewholeheartedly agree! i don't think you get the whole scope of filipino culture if you just stay in "well-off" places like bgc or rockwell.

Tondo is a big place. There are places in Tondo where it is definitely safe. Safer than some places in metro manila. My college friend lives in Tondo and i felt safe going there because the neighborhood is mostly fr the middle class. And thanks to Ugbo market, it is now becoming food lovers destination and kinda rebrand Tondo from the usual perception of unsafe, drug den, and full of illegal settlers. Though I hope Tondo will once again reclaim its former glory (Kingdom of Tondo).

I'm from Caloocan. but I spent the whole of my highschool life in Gagalangin Tondo, I went to school there, and I still frequent that place because I have friends there, never had a problem with the people. key is to blend in with the crowd and be always be aware of your sorroundings. incidents like those can even happen in the most upscale districts.
@@vincenttt8289 What kind of tourist was he.. I sometimes hear those stories, in the end the guys in those stories came for reasons that dont justify stabbing but also arent quite a reason to praise them for. I dont want to blame your friend but I never heard such stories happen to good guys. Sorry for being maybe rude but thats just my experience. Also tell your friend not to start a fight with someone with a knife. I never heard of anybody giving a robber what he wanted and still got stabbed. Thats mostly for guys who had some martial arts lessons back in their country and then want to show how manly they are and fight for their money. Also it helps not to wave around thousands and thousands of pesos, if you open your wallet it it only shows a medium amount of money, the risks would be surely also smaller.. Because most robbers will try to find out if its worth the risk of robbing. So if you buy something somewhere and you have enough money at you to feed a whole family for a whole year there or more, the temptation to doing something wrong will be higher.

There was one occassion when a gang member knocked on their door and when my mom opened it up, there was a guy carrying his guts asking for help.
