@@aliciat2216 right?! Yes, they are. I filmed one of my tutorials outside and every one loved how you could hear the birds vs just zero sounds or music so I record outside now!
Love this! Thank you for sharing. I wanted to try the fake ice but thought it might get old and the lid would have to be thrown away. With this application the lid can be preserved and reused.
The stone in your ring is STUNNING! Is it morganite? I love this cup! The topper is “over the top “! 😂 Sorry, bad joke. The colors in this design is GORGEOUS!
I’d use UV resin instead of epoxy, quicker but just as strong. You can flash cure it so there’s no drips. This is great! Love the colors too. This would be great on a clear tumbler too! Make it look like there are fruits in the drink using the vinyl!
For sealing the ‘ice’? UV resin would be great to top coat but since I drip the epoxy inside the ice and seal all the cracks- the UV light wouldn’t reach those areas so the Uv resin wouldn’t cure.
@@elizabetholeson3492 possibly but hot glue is a lot quicker imo, with uv resin you would have to hold each piece in place for 60 second. Since I go back and epoxy all if the ice to fill in all the cracks hot glue is okay to apply it with. I would not fill the cracks with UV resin bc the light would nit reach the resin that woild be in between all the cracks and therefore would have uncured resin in there. Also- I did go back and remove and replace a few pieces- hot glue is easy to pop off, UV resin would be more difficult you needed to readjust something.
I just stumbled upon your video. This is so cute!!! Can I make a suggestion or two? How about an ice cream or hot chocolate topper? Those would be cute too!!! Keep up the awesomely creative work!!!
Hi! I don’t sand my cups. I use to but when I had to strip a bunch of tumblers I realized that sanding doesn’t make much of a difference if you base paint your cups with a primer- which I do for all my cups.
@@damfancycreations no I meant the piece you attached the ice to that you then attached to the lid, but I just realized you made it from the car coaster molds. Apparently I wasn't paying close attention the first time around lol. Sorry!
Love your video! I currently don't have a coaster mold bit want to try an ice topper. I heard you mention so.ething about using the lid as a mold. Is it really as simple as spraying it with a vegetable spray and pouring the epoxy in? Just pops out after its set? Thanks!
Not a lid! I cut a plastic cup and used the rim- go rid of part that would hold water, rubbed the edges with oil, set it on foil and poured thicken epoxy in. I measured the size I would need and cut the cup down to size and taped it so it would hold shape. I did set a heavy book on top to keep the epoxy from seeping out. I hope this makes sense- it’s nit the BEST method but if you don’t have a mold, it will work in a pinch!
Makes perfect sense! I kept going back to that part of your video trying to figure out how you did that with a lid! I'm ordering coasters now! Thank you again for explaining!
Thanks! I have several different car coaster molds so I’m not sure where these came from... may have been CCDIY. Just look at the sizes- they are pretty much all the same other than that. I want to say these were about 2.5 inches.
Hi Septina! Thanks so much! Even though the Epoxy I use has zero VOC I do still wear a respirator. When you mix part A and B a chemical reaction occurs and releases fumes and you definitely don’t want to be breathing that in. It is always best to protect your lungs when working with chemicals like this. :)
thank you for this tutorial! it's amazing! just wondering if you could explain your ending just a taaaad more. My fault for not understanding the epoxying of the magnets part. I understand epoxying them down, but got lost at the part where you put epoxy on top of the magnets and then put the topper on top of that to cure. How do you get them back off? thanks again!!!!
After the bottom magnets are epoxies to the lid you STACK the second set of magnets on top and then epoxy top of those, then place your topper. When the epoxy is cured you can remove the topper and two magnets will be epoxied to the top of the lid and two magnets will be epoxied to the bottom of the topper. Does that helps explain it a little better?
