Can't compare yourself to corporate gyms. Better comparison would be smaller privately owned gyms.

@@imthatguy7394Corporate gyms are pretty shit. Most corporate gyms barely have 5 bench presses or squat racks which is pretty absurd when you compare it to the 100s of cardio machines they have. The planet fitness I used to go to only had two smith machines in the back compared to the endless rows of step masters and treadmills in the front. In addition, they don’t give a single fuck about you and the employees usually don’t have any knowledge about working out. The environment and culture of private gyms are going to be much better. You’re paying the extra money so you also get the community that will motivate and better you.

If corporations lower their prices to be competitive, it doesn't mean they will stay low. Once competition is eliminated they will raise prices. So either you pay more now or later, but if you pay later you're stuck with a heartless corporation who will not only raise prices but keep raising them, because they're all about profit and nothing else. This is why it's always better to support small businesses, which have been under attack ever since Covid lockdowns...

These gyms don't even have Hair Grafting services for moving hair from neck to top of head. Muscle mass is tempoarary, hair grafting is aslteast 6 months. There are more than a few OTK members that occassionally show interest in these services in their streams.
Sauna with hot stones that you pour water on it to makes steam and spas are game changer in a gym environement
Yup. After having a gym with a sauna, I can never go back. It's become one of the best parts of going to the gym... Just getting to unwind in there at the end of a hard workout

at least where im at and the gym i go to they do a lot of local advertising on tv and have professionals come shoot commercials. Not saying to dump a buttload of money into a commercial but definitely look into like doing collabs with local business and try to get yourself out there as much free advertising twitch is if your trying to appeal to normies gotta get into their mentality. Tik tok ads/insta and facebook are pretty good ways to try and spread it.

I went to visit a friend’s gym today and the sheer smell of swamp ass killed the experience. So cleanliness is necessary. I also recommend going to apartment complexes nearby and handing them passes or offering the staff a gnarly discount so they’re more inclined to give them to welcome packages for new move ins. You can also look into sponsoring small events look into festivals.
Biggest turnoffs for me from a gym for me is the showers, it would be nice to have enough room in the showers to store my clothes or bag so I can at least walk out of the showers in underwear and crocks and change in the locker rooms.
Health podcast where gym goers can get their questions answered. Stuff like that.

the corp gyms will lower their prices then after 2 months they will raise their prices, just keep what your doing and try a vary of classes for people, and once you get regulars, ask them what they would like to see, Boxing, Karate etc and host tournament for said classes, do clubs for kids
i use to not like wake, my impression that was a typical "gym guru" who just liked to hear himself speak but he's grown on me solely because of his work ethic. Keep up the good work Wake, Miz, and Emily.
Wait good idea you talk to the business’s right next to yours and see if you can partner up with them to help your visibility. More traffic for your gym means more tragic for their businesses
Some ways you could parnter up with them is posters in their windows and you advertise them in your gym
$40 for a gym membership is insanely cheap. The only thing around me like that is planet fitness, all our decent gyms are $88-$140 a month but we have a lot of people into bodybuilding here. Personally I'm into the swimming and martial arts of it and usually free weights at home + isometrics. My cardio blows as far as treadmills and bikes are concerned but always has as a hockey player who would burn and turn and jump onto the bench when gassed the last 30 years of playing (since 4). Tanning is a big plus at gyms for me and saunas.
Look for Gyms in your area that might be for sale or willing for offers, found out why they are failing, buy the gym and liquidate it out of business and move to the better location.
The gym just isn't worth the price for what's currently offered..... Any other gym with a similar pricetag is going to offer a lot more
Wow you guys in America can pay 35 bucks a month for gym membership, that's pretty awesome pricing. I pay like 25 bucks a week in Australia, its a fairly average gym as well nothing crazy. I mean yeah its Aussie dollars but still.

Could also try and get an in-door or out-door track going.. I'm not sure the cost difference between trying to match their cardio equipment vs getting a track setup. Gym I go to, here in Korea, has an Indoor track setup as well as cardio equipment.. but it's like a 50/50.. maybe 10 treadmills, 10 sitting bikes, and a pool. Also a smoothie place, which would be a good attraction.
Get more cardio machines, a sauna, hot tub, and pool to swim laps.
That's the only way their gym would be worth $45+/month
Honestly though.. like a lot of gyms that aren't super corpo seem to focus heavily on community. Seems to work quite well tbh@@JACpotatos

Their gym kinda is exactly how you would expect a streamer gym to be. Just how streamers have these big souless houses with nothing but desks, chairs and their pc set up in, the same could be said for Ironforge. Feels very uncomplete and a chain gym of a thousand. Most smaller/priv gyms atleast have some character going on.
Any gym that's not Planet Fitness is great.
