I settled with the XT30ii earlier this year and love the size and quality for travel and street, I also purchased the ZF 3weeks ago for 25% off although I hate articulating screens but I’m loving the ZF so far the colours and image quality coming out of this camera is awesome! the screen should certainly be no reason not to enjoy such a great camera!!
Thanks Tudor. Great video again :) The problem with Nikon zf is that it has not many lens options to work with it. But I do love the retro look. I am now between sony 6700 and sony zf. Keep up the good work on 2025. Cheers
Yeah, let alone all the lenses you can adapt from Sony mount, like the Sigma and Sony lenses with aperture rings. I'd rather argue that Z-mount is one of the most lens versatile given all the available lens options.
Agree, I have the Nikon ZF, Fujifilm X100VI and the Sony A7Cii. I will never sell the Nikon. The XT100VI is my everyday camera and Sony is for when I go on trips or scenarios I need to operate fast. I have 49mm mist filters for the Fujifilm and will be getting the Typoch lens for the Nikon ZF which also have 49mm filter sizes - so will be using those on the Nikon as well. Digital can be just as fun as film with the right setup.
The Zf is a great camera, but for street photography I don't like using a fully articulating screen. If I were to switch to Nikon, I would evaluate the Z8 as a solution for street photography as well as sports, action, and wildlife. Retro dials are nice, but not essential to me.
I agree! Zf is only second to $$$ Leica rangefinders. But the learning curve of those cameras is too high for casual YT viewers. If you are not a professional you don’t need Sony Alpha sharpness, you need inspiration to shoot a camera everyday.
Thank you, Tudor. But I'm surprised not to see the Fuji X-Pro3 in this selection (it would be as relevant as the Leica). And I'm still curious to know what your preference would be between it and the Nikon Zf 😉
Tudor, great video. And yeah, marketing. That’s what the video does. Ok, a little bit ;) Anyway, I like your photos a lot. And the cameras. I picked up a Zf, an adapter which does autofocus on old lenses, and some nice, old, but still great lenses. The Pentax 50mm F1.4 is my favourite by now. And I took so much nice pictures. So yes, the Zf with the Z mount has its capabilities. Beside that, people asking you about the camera. It looks unusual in these day. It looks retro. And I got a 240 two months ago. With a new 35mm F2 Ultron. Such a nice combo. I’m pretty sure everyone can do the same images I did with the Leica and the Zf with nearly any other camera. Along they are capable of using the lenses I mentioned. But I’m not sure that I do have the same fun. With the Zf and the Leica. And that’s it for me. Like it’s for you? So finally: My two best cameras for 2025? The Zf and the Leica. P.S.: Because of the Adapter for the Zf, Leica-M to Zf, I can use all the old lenses, mostly M42, with an L-M adapter on the Leica. Pretty cool. P.P.S.: Oh yes, I do have a OM-1, along with the 40-150. Lightweight wildlife camera. Great image stabilisation.
I love to use my Nikon Zf i also like my sony a7III. All new cameras are so good today that you can get great pictures with all of them. More important are lenses and skill of the photographer 😊
I still don't understand why dslr's are left out today. They have a better viewfinder, great lenses and better ergonomics than the Zf or Leica MP240 and so on.
@@litcrayon The lenses are quite large, expensive and heavy on the Z nikon. The viewfinder is much better on the DSLR's, they are more robust, have no battery issue. Respond without delay on pressing the shutter button. They accept all manual ai lenses without adapter. The absence of noise could be an advantage.

Leica needs to move on and allow autofocus. Their system is tricky to use. It slows you down. Also they are rather expensive. I was thinking about the xt50. But I am thinking more about something where I don't need to worry about changing lenses.. the x100 vi is great but too expensive. Also hard to find.. also thinking about the leica dlux 8. But a bit let down about the micro four thirds.. also like the last ricoh but no viewfinder is a no no. Even If you can add an optical viewfinder. But next year maybe more cameras will come...
Smaller but weak, very weak and fragile. Add a protective case, add a square hood lens protection. And the camera will still break on you in time because of the retractable lens and other known issues. Ricoh GR IT'S BUILD LIKE A DISPOSABLE CAMERA 😁🤪
@@Tudor_Mateescu I do long distance endurance sport like cycling and I use the ricoh straped to me when I ride. yes it is not WR but so far I don't have any issues using it with all my sweat over it and riding in the rain. IMO, it is the most powerful camera in that size and weight
@@Tudor_Mateescu I have owned and used a GRiii for over 4 years, no problems at all, but then I don’t drop my gear on the floor. I don’t need a hood and a big protective case- that is like saying put the other cameras in an underwater housing because everyone might be dumb enough to fall in the lake. 🤷🏼♂️🤣
What is big different about the x-t50 changing film recipes than on other Fujis? Put it in the Q-Menu and you're done.. And speaking of the Nikon: if an already 710g heavy camera needs a hand grip, the ergonomics of the camera are not really good, are they? 😀
1. That is the problem you aren't done. It saves all kinds of settings and if you adjust or change between recipes you're done on the field :)) it's terrible. The old Fujifilm models got it right 2. Nikon z f you set it and forget it
I grew up using a Nikon f and f2. So that being said, probably my next purchase is the ZF. The Sony a7cii I currently use, so far is impressive, other than the crap evf, and not to great screen. I just keep telling myself its only for composing the shot, or scene, and I’m pleasantly surprised what comes out. It nails the focus.
Hi! I`m glad you are so happy about Nikon Zf, for me, it`s also a great camera and a joy to use. In my Hollidays this year, walking in the streets the city I visited, I heard a few times "Nice camera"!... I was divided about this, although... Am I'm attracting unwanted attention and raising the chances of being robbed or are people praising a really nice camera and expressing a positive attitude towards it and it`s usage as a street photography camera? Now, I regret didn`t ask those persons to take a picture of them, but then I just said thank you for those remarks because they were unexpected and I wasn`t prepared to deal with them 🙂. That`s just a story about this beautiful camera. Wish you a great 2025 and I'll be around to see your passionate and educational videos!

I agree, I left the x-T5 to a Zf and I am super happy, the shutter sound alone push me to take more photos
Oh yeah 👍
I have both M240 and Zf too. Love them so much and sure will keep on using them in 2025.
I like your photographs and your phototographic style regardless of what camera you used. Great photos!
Thanks so much!
OM System OM 5 cheap and small and lenses are small and light.
I recently picked up a Fujifilm X-E3 body and it has reinvigorated my love for Fuji again.

Wish you published this few days earlier, I literally Picked up the XT5 yesterday after debating for weeks if i should go with XT5or Zf😂
Xt5 is good also 👍
Now Tudor!! Great video, btw!!! Would you now say that the Nikon ZF AF is better than the Sony A7C?
No, it's not better. It's under a little. Nothing significant I would say.
@@Tudor_MateescuVery useful info. I have never had the A7 C. It's surprising that the A7C still holds on well.

Ricoh or fuji xf10 (my edc) in a beer koozie. Some protection, still jeans pocketable.
Zf price actually went back up to the normal price. No longer on sale even so, it's a good price for that kind of camera
Thank you, Tudor. But I'm surprised not to see the Fuji X-Pro3 in this selection (it would be as relevant as the Leica). And I'm still curious to know what your preference would be between it and the Nikon Zf 😉

DSLRs are too loud big and socially awkward for street photography and they’re generally bad in live view.
latest mirrorless have better autofocus, ibis, smaller, quieter

What a load of rubbish - science and physics out of the window . A Ricoh is smaller don’t be an idiot.
