They just don't make things like they use to
Yeah, some people are just noisy tards.
😄
Cliffs were probably made in china.
It’s a good thing too. Mother Nature has opted to make the new cliffs with steel cables & concrete which are much stronger ;-)
@@gr8dvd lol true
Everyone talking about the screaming guy in a negative light. I however, am glad he was there. He added excitement to the whole thing.
Excitement? Listening to someone screaming like a frightened fool is not enjoyable. He needed a Bugs Bunny / 3 Stooges style slap in the face.
That cliff face wouldn't have fallen had he not been there to see it...
@@eldiablo7862 you loved it, you little devil lol
@@eldiablo7862 hahaha so funni
Here for this comment 🙌
Dang, when I went kayaking to the caves a few years ago I was thinking this very thing.....”what if that cliff/wall broke off”
We went in a crevasse that had a Boulder hanging in it above us, it was so narrow you didn’t use your paddle, you pushed with your hands on the walls beside you......what was I thinking ??🙄
Beautiful but could be deadly 😗
Yep. Could be deadly.
The beat adventures always have a little chance of death. Beside had it happened it wouldn't be you problem for very long.
Yep, been there, done that. Thought about it later. Wonder if the locals keep track of caves and overhangs that have collapsed?
I wonder if screaming back up repeatedly helped the situation, I think so.
It certainly made it more exciting! 🤣🤣
😂🤣😂👍👍
They weren't that close, no need for yelling or panic or hysteria, a simple "we better back up the boat" would do...panic is never helpful... 👍
I applaud them since I did not hear a “Back the EFF up” retort.🙅🏼♂️ All things considered, a “backup Bro, back up backup” was relatively calm.😂
Well, a few months after this incident a cliff the same size collapsed in Brazil landing directly on 2 boats smashing them to pieces and the cliff exploded into 10lb-100lb rocks flying in every direction as well as the exploded boat degree which was flying so fast it destroyes 2 boats nearby.
*10 people died and 30 people were heavily injured.*
Kinda makes me sad that people are making fun of the guy for yelling to drive away, because it was the right thing to do, obviously they were safe enough distance away but whatever happened to ol' saying :
*BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY*
Those are sedimentary rock cliffs. Sediments don't form cliffs, which means that this has been happening for millennia. What's rare is getting it on video.
Surprised they didn’t have some moron yelling Climate Change!
Umm i think they somewhat specified that at the beginning. You are a buzz kill. I bet you ruin the circus.
@@moniquejones6482 you sound like the one who ruins the circus by being a karen.
All that sediment layed down by one flood is amazing. And that sediment is worldwide.
Not to mention all the money I saved...
I often remind people sitting on or standing on a cliff edge that the edge wasn't always where it is right now. Most of them look at me like I'm speaking Martian. Ok, have it your way.
Ok Mister Kevin Martian
@@releventhurt Thanks for that thought provoking response. Now, don't you feel better about yourself?

I kayaked that stretch of the shoreline a few years back. It was beautiful. Had an amazing time. So glad the cliff face held together cause in some cases we got pretty close.
This is one of the most beautiful spots in the world. Miles and miles of gorgeous cliffs along a pristine, fresh water lake.
Mosquito beach🦟 Sounds like a lovely place 😱
I hear it's all the buzz.
Ohh yaa! Gotta love them bugs!!
Next to black fly bay, an even more pleasant place to camp. Isn't winter great, not even a house fly to swat.
That entire cliff is made of very week sandy conglomerate. It is glacial debris that wasn't compacted into actual stone. We have similar geology here in Washington state where deadly landslides are the result of the erosion induced fracturing.
I didn't know that. Thank you. 🙂👍
Thank you for the explanation.
The cliff composition is an analogy of the Biden economy
The whole cliff is glacial debris? It looks too uniformly stratified for that.
@@DrPepperZZZ That's the nature of a glacial moraine. Ground up rock and earth is ground up, mixed and pushed by glacial action into huge formations like that. Those were the mile thick glaciers of the ice age, not the tiny remnants we have today.
Park's Chief of Interpretation, what a title.
As useful as tits on a cardboard box. What a useless position and title.
that's what Geologist's, call a "moment in geologic history"
nevermind the Volcano right underneath you.
Water always wins.
What an incredible thing to witness. Nature doing it’s own thing. Thanks for sharing.
Oh, something is happening. I must scream like an idiot.
Who is that dingbat screaming??
Stop describing me so spot on.
I think he's screaming "back up" because of the waves coming from the fall. Depending on what watercraft they're on, they could have been afraid of capsizing or someone falling over
the lake just got a little bit bigger time to revise those maps
There are great charter tours on the lake to view the rocks. A very amazing and beautiful area to visit; been there many times.
The U.P. is a vast woodland. Spent many summers there. Some remote areas on that side of Mississippi.
That was great to watch, thank you...I love the great lakes and that water at the beach was so clear, would love to take a swim.
Great water, a little on the cool side when it is free of ice
It's quite chilly
WAY more than a bit chilly… killing cold
😞😭It’s sad to think that with that kind of erosion, it won’t even be there in the future (of course you & I won’t be here either). 😭
Most humans won't be here either.
Even Niagara Falls is going away. It all goes to the sea eventually.
@@ngoddess9684 - 🤔Probably 😞

There entire planet is CONSTANTLY being reshaped by various forms of erosion through earthquakes, volcanos, tornados, hurricanes, etc. It's been happening since the moment Adam turned the planet and all spiritual authority OVER TO satan AKA the ETERNAL LOSER.( who was stupid enough to think he could take over & become God 🙄) Ever since then creation has been in turmoil & will continue to be in tremendous turmoil until the end of this age - when The Lord Jesus Christ will redo it all to it's original state of perfection.

that's what geologist's call a "moment in geologic history"
Michigan has its own natural way of repelling fudgies. :)
In the past, every time I read about another fossil find (like Burgess Shale) being explained as "the animals were buried all at once by a cliff collapse", I used to think, "that's a lot of cliff collapses". Now, thanks to the internet, I see how common they really are.
What is the cliff made of, how was it formed? A bit of geology would be nice.
I wouldn’t get close to that cliff face unless it was a solid granite slab. Even from back that far it looks unstable.
Absolutely!
Excellent timing and footage. Well done!
Walked across the top a couple times. Nice view of Lake Superior and a park ranger pointed out a bald eagle nest high in a tree next to the cliffs. Good trip a few years before the Covid pandemic.
Imagine cliff jumping while that was happening?
Why is the cliff not moving but the water is.
“Get closer, closer, closer… BACK UP, BACK UP, BACK UP”

WHAT, NO tsunami warning?
Lake Superior is one of the most awesome places on the planet and one of the most powerful you can't underestimate or predict what's going to happen with that make it never gives up its dead
The lake it is said never gives up its dead. Gordon Lightfoot.
Other than that, was it a relaxing boat ride?
lol!
In 1974 on Lake Powell AZ, this happened to me while I was diving off a cliff, the entire cliff came off & followed me into the water.
Driving or diving ? And none of it hit you ?
@@OneBlueFroggy diving & none of it hit me...
@@OneBlueFroggy when I looked up it was pitch Black. The cliff fell off in slow motion & once I was completely under, I heard Ka-ThumpSwishhhhhh as I swam out from under & my ear I saw the sun again & swam all the way to the boat, about 75 feet, & as my ears broke the surface all the boy scouts were screaming, I was yelling & they couldn't see my from the dust. Once scout finally yelled & pointed from the boat, he's right here! Wow. I wondered why the sun went black.i thought a big rock fell in behind me. Nope it was the whole cliff.
@@QSasquatch - that is amazing, you were so lucky.
as if the lake wasn't big enough, it's just grown more... wow...
Idk why they’re laughing but that’s absolutely crazy because I’ve seen people kayak right down there where it was eroding!
- people tend to laugh a lot when nervous or scared, to hide their fear !
Wow-thats amazing to see
I love on the northern top of lake superior( thunder bay, ontario) we have miles and miles of beautiful trails, cliffs, beaches, rivers and waterfalls....I've put on hundreds of miles on my feet hiking the sleeping giant and many parks along the North shores. So much to see
What was in the water on the right side of the collapse?
continuity in filming. study that more...

I'd like to Head of Interpretation lol you never wrong with that role
Probably had thousands of applicants for that one position.
Incredible, right place at the right time.
That's so cool getting to actually watch water shape the earth.
I'd say that road sign I see all the time would be appropriate here. "Watch for Falling Rocks."
Greetings from the BIG SKY.
Curious to know if there was any gold artifacts, bones, etc. did anybody check?

wow beautifully natural cliff glacie landslide...
almost same as ice glacie
That's some cold water man I'd be screaming too
Por favor, poderiam fazer dublagem ou colocar legendas em português.
Yep that's what sandstone does definitely
Why does it not show the wave hitting the boat?
Wow. rare to see solid rock ..
fall ....
Dam
I've been there beautiful place
You can see it everywhere, erosion of beaches shorelines.
But people think its the same ol same old!
Worst type of people. Calm down and hold the camera steady
To get that footage was amazing...
The ground under the rock's surface is shifting causing the collapse of the wall cliff. During periods of extreme drought the surface of land is unstable both in water as well as on the ground.
Who woulda thought.
It’s a cliff face, almost by definition it is always and already unstable, and will always be, until it is not a cliff face.
Is there a horse carved into that cliff wall? Maybe an elephant? Look close!
Before or after the collapse cause I see a face of what looks to be a native American to the right of what looks to be a trunk of an elephant if its before the collapse. But that's just what I can see and might be what some call paradolia
Nature owns us, not the other way around, despite how inflated our egos are as humans. Regardless of rock type, think to yourself, how did this rock get its look in the first place? That should tell you how far to stay from edges of rock, cliffs, and other loose sediment.
Takes place in Lake Superior and not a single Canadian MSN media airs this
Can anyone explain why everything is on zoom?
Just to think that I was scuba diving in that same spot some years ago. There was no collapse at that time, but there were people on top of that cliff rolling boulders and stones and letting them drop down into the Lake . ---------- not the smartest thing to do .
It’s called sedimentary rock maybe instead of keeping people ignorant teach people of the areas and how different soils will react over time with surroundings
The reason its falling apart is because that whole land is a mud fossil! Genesis chapter 1 tells you there were creatures in the beginning before Adam was created!
Ice is melting so fast...
Dang it bill we told you not to throw that pebble at that clif. Lol
Who the hell places land near water?
Happens in the Puget sound a lot.
I would probably be screaming if I was there to record it!! 😯
Being in a pontoon boat while that happens would be scary small waves can flood them easily.
In Brazil this thing fell over tourist boats. 10 deads. 27 hurted.
Cool video. Not unusual.
I guess the lake is superior to the cliff...
I believe lake powell just had a large rock collapse recently,Interesting
At least it will increase the lake level.
If only his name was Terry. Terry back up!! Oh no Terry! Terry back up Back up Terry!!! Lol
crazy that looks
Can anyone else see the image of a car on left and truck on rite
Just went there today
Wow!!
Dude what are the chances of you ever seen anything like that in your lifetime let alone recording it.
Every group has the one person that is the "MAJOR overreactor".This guy really got to show off his pipes in this one.And the award goes to.....
What’s the over under on how many beers the back up guy drank?
OMG someone recording a Landscape in Landscape Mode! 😳
I'm betting there's a Fisher and the recent death quake caused it in multiple places
While this happened on a lake it also happens in bays and oceans.
Erosion of shoreline and river banks further inland is a contributor to sea level rise.
Mountains and fields are carried to the sea and deposited in river deltas. This displaces water.
Whats causing all these mountains to collapse?
Check out Sam Lam's comment. "..erosion..". Yep, no big deal. Now do you understand what is meant by fake news? They dramatize EVERYTHING and if that's not enough they make stuff up.
Climate change.
Gravity. Otherwise they would float off into space.
@@darrellcook8253 🤜🤛 👍 👍
There is a mosquitoes river??? Omg
bummer. itll take many years to get the mineral stains back on that section of the cliff face
He's a little too excited.
Backup! Backup! Backup! I heard the same thing when I rode the subway. DONT TOUCH ME… YOUR TOO CLOSE!
this was where the rocks came from, one source of the pebbles ?
The earth seems to be rearranging itself. I have seen video of this happening in quite a few places.

THAT LAKE NEVER GIVES UP HER DEAD!!!!!!!!!
People that think they can swim there don’t really understand that or why…
@@Electricshadows great lakes are great and safe swimming. Rivers are dangerous. not lakes.
Very careless to shut engine off leaving yourself so vulnerable. Biggest danger was not the wake, but the flying bits of rock.
