The drummer goes INSANE on this album and it's absolutely incredible
I've missed an angry Tim. Definitely agree on it sounding like older Rise Against, that could have easily been on The Sufferer & The Witness
I’d say one of the softer songs from counter culture but yeah it would fit that record too
I love the horse analogy. We're all basically work horses who are working for other peoples gain and rich lifestyle and are expected to be ok with it because it's seen as "Normal". This song is amazing :)
Also could be about what's going on with the lockdowns and protests everywhere still, and the pure deception from all global leaders. Freedoms are being taken away from virtually every country at an alarming rate. People need to wake the fuck up the govt does not have our best interests at heart.

@@SSZ3RK4N4TOR Cuz employers are "mad" that people found out its much more efficient to work at home if the nature of the job allows. But they have to justify that real-estate occupancy..
Song hits a lot of us in the feels, especially right now. So stoked this song sounds like old school Rise Against. Here's hoping the new album follows this! Thanks for sharing gents!
Solid song, I got into this band this year. Tip The Scales is probably my fav song from them.

With remembering that about a year ago Tim revealed that he had actually been struggling with singing for several years, so I don’t know if it’s that he wasn’t angry, he’s been getting singing lessons which he said has been helping him preserve his voice so it doesn’t get blown out. Really happy to see it. Love the new album, plus Brandon has his best drumming for a while on it
It sucks you guys had to blur it but at least the lyrics there were still readable! Looking forward to their new album
Late to the party, but this song is so powerful it both lyrics and melody. It changes at the perfect time. It hits you hard and makes sure you know it. There is no way you mis-understand the message to this song.

I am a huge fan of them, so I am glad you are reacting to their last single! I do agree with you, the song recalls their first albums (I am thing about Appeal to reason). I hope you have the chance to listen to Broken dreams, Inc. because they collaborated with DC comic Metal death artists that are super sick!

Paper Wings and Prayer of the Refugee were the first two songs that introduced me to Rise Against. I remember hearing them then deleting all of the pictures off my little flip phone to make more space to put every Rise Against song on my phone instead haha. Pleased to hear a little more intensity again. It's been far too long !

Dunno if you guys know Tim from RA had a metalcore band back in the days called The Killing Tree. Definitely worth checking out, especially The Romance Of Helen Trent, which was a concept album. Would be awesome to see you react to that album and note the clear differences between the bands content and vocal wise.

This would easily fit on siren songs I loved the last album they molded the old and new so perfectly. I still hope for another song like state of the union but it probably won’t happen
I'm enjoying this album so far, and loved Wolves as well. Black Market was a different feel overall for them, and didn't really fit with the rest of their catalogue, but it wasn't bad by any means.
Great song. First got into Rise Against back in 2003. Their first four alums were amazing, they kind of fell off after that to me. LOVED this song though. Agreed with your thoughts on it.
You can always spot a synthol user by the lack of definition in the arms, they just appear big but have no definition..
