- In this talk, the speaker throws light upon the following questions:-
1. What is the indigenous conception of Indian history?
2. What was the state of Indian scholarship between the mid-nineteenth century and mid-twentieth century?
3. What led to the decline of historical scholarship in India?
The speaker asserts that any honest history of India must take into account the all-encompassing nature and philosophical unity of Hinduism. While ‘History’ is limited to the reporting of historical events, Itihasas like Ramayana and Mahabharata contain a large amount of historical data. These works are both history and contemporary at the same time. Hindus ‘live’ these epics everyday at various places. These epics are constant guides of a living tradition. Therefore, history, as Hindus see it, is consciously being lived by Hindus.
The speaker dwells upon the purpose of history writing in India? Here, attention is drawn to the former Indian politician K.M. Munshi who opined that the central purpose of history must be “to investigate and unfold the values which age after age have inspired the inhabitants of a country to develop their collective will.”
Such history writing was practiced by a number of scholars between the mid-19th and mid-20th century, a period which was a ‘golden age of Hindu renaissance’ being characterized by the work of P V Kane, M Hiriyanna, Jadunath Sarkar, R C Majumdar, R.K. Mukherjee and so on.
Most importantly, Sandeep Balakrishna also tells us how the leftists in cahoots with the Congress party hounded out greatest historians of India, slandered them, ignored them and rewrote the history of India with a biased, jaundiced ‘secular’ lens which has led to many problems in modern India.

@@NeurologistIn Thanks. Surprisingly even now in the age of internet not much is being discussed about Sarkar and Mazumdar. I tuned into talks of Dipesh Chakravarty on UA-cam but did not hear much on Sarkar either tho he was his student and S Balakrishna praised him so much.

Sanatana Dharma is a way of living , Modern Cosmologists and Physics Like Carl Sagan , Neils Bohr , CERN Scientist have validated and praised the Accuracy of the 30000 year old Vedic Scriptures from RIG VEDA Below are few lines from RIGVEDA 10:129 Nasadiya Sukta , Creation Hymn , (30000 year old Vedic scripts.) And they have stretched their cord across the void, Was the existent skewed or in the middle, was above or below. It was spread akin. On birth of the world, powers with seed, form and action made fertile mighty forces. Others were great existing above in the sky. Spirituality excels materialism. But, after all, who knows, and who can say in detail, Who else can let us know, how and why the creation happened, Whence it all came, and how creation happened? the gods themselves are later than creation, so who knows truly whence it has arisen? Whence all creation had its origin, the creator, whether he fashioned it or whether he did not, the creator, who surveys it all from highest heaven, he knows - or maybe even he does not know. How thought Provoking it is! Right? A land where people perform Skeptical Questioning. Well then what is Hindu Philosophical God? God is the energy. Energy is everywhere. Energy condensed is matter. The Universe is filled with dark energy and dark matter. In other words, scientist have found that all of the Universe is permeated by an energy that they cannot explain. Similarly you can think of God as permeating everything. God condensed is Vyakta, and God in his pure form is Nirguna as per Advaita Vedantam. God is Brahman. Brahman is the creator and the creation itself. Brahman is Impersonal , Transcendent and Beyond. Brahman is Om. Om is the vibration. Om is the building block of creation. Everything and Everywhere is Om. The Material world. Brahman the Supreme, is the ultimate consciousness and the Absolute Reality. If you were a saprophile , you would have already fallen in love with the Vedic literature. Decline and the ignorance of such a intellectual community and ideas is something to be consciously thought about and discussed. Sanatan Dharma is not a “Religion” like a western idea , Rather it is the collective knowledge and result of various Rishi’s and Sages of this Great land. It Proves To be meaningful and scientific. After all the Indian civilisation , Did not believe the earth was created on 23rd October 4004BC also our culture did not give rise to the idea that universe is earth-centric. Islam and christianity is only 1400 or 2000 years old and hence cannot be equated with Hinduism, which is God found religion from times immemorial.

In India ,in Sanskrit Bhasha,it has to be pronounced as Ved ,Puran, or Ram not as Veda, Purana, Rama.

Read Savarkar’s Hindu-Pad Padshashi and his ‘six glorious epochs of Indian history’ ! These books are not expansive in detail but set the narrative right about the periods concerned. Then obviously you can read the books suggested by the speaker and CK Raju on the history and philosophy of science in India.

In Sanskrit, there is 'a' at the end when we pronounce. In hindi, we don't have this. So it's not Ram, it's Rama.
However, it's not a long 'a', that would be wrong.

Bharat is called Bharat Varsh,not Bharat Varsha.Varsh is Years,Yugas.not Varsha ie Rain in Sanskrit.if u r referring Google,it gives Misconception of Hindu Religion
in Bhart varsh varsh means mahaa dweep not years . In sanskrit it is so .
