Not wearing a shirt in public is rude either way, not only in Thailand. You also risk getting severe sunburn. It doesn't feel any cooler either. You just have to wear the right kind of shirt.
Nothing wrong with the foreign flag law! I wish we had this in Australia. Another thing to remember in Thailand is that if you’re a foreigner you are automatically on the wrong side of any dispute with a Thai and will be treated accordingly.
Bonus fact I got from a canadian girl who has a "resort" in Koh Phangan - non-Thai people can work as bartenders and waiters, but only Thai people are allowed to take cash from foreigners. So technically when the check comes - only Thai waiters an bartenders can take your cash and give change. +extra factoid on top of yours - you can't sit on cash (disrespect to king) - so no wallets in back pockets ;)
Foreigners not able to handle cash in their own shop is correct. A friend of mine with a valid work permit was arrested and deported as he handled cash in his own restaurant.
I recently saw a shirtless Brit in a shopping mall get told by security to put his shirt back on. I don’t know why he thought it was ok - he knows it’s not ok in his own country. Embarrassing to see this sort of behaviour.
One note here! I noticed that when the convenience store is co-located with gas station they can not sell alcohol! I think this is a thing, might want to look into it!
It’s pronounced as Less Ma-Jest 😊 Anything Royal is highly respected. A foreigner who used his foot to stop his note from flying away was charged and paid a fine.
No underwear and no leaving the house. There is no law on this and prostitution is illegal in Thailand. But the problem is that there are many corrupt officials who take money from the offenders. That is why it is still a problem in Thailand's red-light districts. The problem is the seriousness of the law enforcement.
What about the sellers of the cards? Should they go to the factory every time they sold the 2 packs allowed? :D And just start the machinery to produce that 2 decks of cards, so they wont break the rules? :D
Whatever “law” (if they are laws) or any other restriction you’re talking about here in Thailand is just, that’s the way the way things are if you visit or live here. If you’re an expat, it’s likely they don’t ever affect you. Please don’t make a big deal about obscurity. It exists all over the world.
No underwear outside? My girlfriend breaks this law every time she's in Thailand. The dresses get short and the panties come off easily, if ever worn in the first place.
This is rubbish. I have no idea why YT would recommend this channel. BTW. In Thailand, driving without a shirt is technically not illegal, but it can lead to fines due to regulations related to "indecent behavior" or "improper conduct."

Brits usually go shirtless and it’s disgusting.
Thanks.. very informative 👍
Entertaining & informative. Very nice to learn about many unknown laws. ❤

Wise words.
I believe this law only applies at sporting events not in general.
My first thought when I saw the title was, "I bet he doesn't mention the no shirt rule'....bugger!

That's not a fact and you should not spread misinformation.
Your 100% right
I've lived in Thailand for 40 years, you don't know what your talking about.

@@gerarteuben3333 the only time I have seen a foreigner who is working in Thailand illegally handle cash was to pay the police a fine. Just saying

Only antique buddhas apply to what you quoted

Having been to Thailand some 20 times; I find Thailand to be very relaxed with their laws. In fact, try to find a Thai policeman when you need one!
Every man needs a good counselor for his vices. Thank you sir!

Probably due to that law. Makes sense.
Make the Law then break the Law
Driving shirtless is considered distracting to other drivers

Oh my Freud, " Don't respect the King ".
Even saying that can get you in trouble. Anyone can accuse anyone of this ' crime ' with no proof.
No collecting shells or coralls on the beaches !!! And no smoking !!!

Last time I was in Thailand, there were a lot of enthusiastic law-breakers. Just saying.
lol 😂
Shirtless driving isn't weird it's illegal in most countries and also English teachers use loudspeakers in class a lot . Lol
Such is Thailand with its selective enforcement of fun laws 😀
Can temples fly Buddhist flags?
Good question. I’ll check next time I go 🙏

It’s actually a male cannot go out without underwear; same, a male must wear a shirt whilst driving.

I like the rule about not flying someone else’s flag in your country, mate! a ok! Why would you disrespect the king anyway? You don’t like it leave …
The new tax laws may differ from the other bizarre laws because of the money at stake. But we'll see.
I have a buddha tattoo on my arm with my Japanese grandfather's name. Looks like they are putting the cuffs on me as soon as I enter the country. 😂
Many laws are disregarded, unless you're a farang and therefore a cash cow.😁
