@@lonely.toaster No, usually more speed equates to more down force. However that down force will reach a point where it's compressing the tires so much, that their deformation, along with wind resistance is the limiting factor. If you had the ability to use solid metal wheels, and turn off air, it might be interesting though. But I'd reccomend staying in a higher gear to reduce torque, reducing wheelspin and aiding control.
Reminds me of the story about a Jeep that was in 4L/ first gear, that was towed behind a camper at highway speed. Someone estimated that based on gear ratios, tire size, and vehicle speed that the engine would have spun 53,000 RPM.
3:06 The Burnside looks like it was Destroyed by some Powerful Explosives right under the engine Engine sound pitch capped at ~52K RPM probably to prevent the game from crashing fatally
Reminds me of that Wrangler incident, where the Wrangler was about to get towed only for the driver forgetting to put the car back in High Range. The Pentastar V6 reached ~54.000rpm before tearing its block apart and splattering its bowels all over the place. I have a question about this test: shouldn't the pitch be getting higher with every attempt during which the revs climbed higher and higher? I mean, it should be different on ~50k rpm, 180k rpm and 500k rpm! It sounds the same and I think it shouldn't!
Revs down, sounds like a nuclear alarm. Rev it up at the correct time, it is a emergency air alarm (I forgot the name of the alarm) This is terrifying.
I've only had it once before. I was testing a car on a ramp to see how long it could hold on while burning. The first thing to fail was the overheating brakes. The park gear held it up, but I also got a block melted message.
I don't know if this is possible in beam, but imagine pairing that engine to a gearbox with an equally insane gear box with a gear reduction that makes it drive like a normal car. Just doing 200.000 rpms at 30 mph.
if only possible. seems BeamNG did not put actual metallurgy into their con rod tolerances of the metal. Engines could spin faster then 10k but the metal in the connecting rods can not handle the change in direction as such RPM. Would be nice though i admit. Just the movement from traveling up the bore then back down the bore stretches the metal and it can only stretch so far till it snaps and that limit seems to be about 10k or so RPM, with today's common metallurgy.
