So... Is Jie Jie supposedly the eldest of the Ladybugs?
Probably. She does look like the Ladybug from the book (there is a specific name for it that I cannot remember) and the miraculous did originate from China according to Master Fu.
The Miraculous are of Chinese origin and Jie-Jie looks Chinese, so I think she was the first ladybug.
Ok, while I agree, if I remember my history correctly then Greece came around long before China did, therefore I think Hippolytia is the eldest

I don't know if they've confirmed any yet. Meanwhile they've added ANOTHER flippin' Ladybug (who admittedly looks like a boss), and we have yet to see any other past miraculous holders for the other main 6.

And for this comic Ferisae (the creator) it's one of the most important people on Miraculous teams. Really guys, she just published it and some time later Thomas Astruc saw it and try to get contact with her. Now they're besties. Also, Thomas greets her on her birthday every year.
If only she could see the past iterations of Ladybug. Or even sense them.

I don't think "ancestry" is the best term as Marinette is part Chinese and French. Not only do we have Egyptian and African, but we also have a a Greek. Not to mention Master Fu had the Miraculous, so it is more likely like a Green Lantern Ring and each Miraculous are given to a worthy successor
