Major Tourist Attractions of Munnar in Mattupetty Direction
1. Rose/Flower Garden (Entry Fee Rs 50)
2. Photo Point
3. Carmelgiri Elephant Park
4. Carmelgiri Garden (Cactus) (Entry Fee Rs 50)
5. Mattupetty dam/lake (Boating option available) - 11 Kms from the town
6. Shooting Point
7. Echo Point
8. Tribal village view point
9.Tea Factory (Entry Fee Rs 120)
10. Kundala dam/lake (Boating option available)
11. Yellapetty view point
12. Top Station (Watch tower fee Rs 20) - 35 Kms from the town.
Boating should be done during return. First reach Top Station.
Auto Rixa Charges 1000 to 1500 (from 9 am to 5 pm) for whole day excursion.
There is no major tourist attraction inside the Munnar town. Tourist Spots are outside the town which can be classified based on directions. There are four major directions (roads) in Munnar.
1. Coimbatore Road
2. Kochi Road (Cheyappara & Valara water Falls)
3. Mattupetty Road
4. Thekkady/Devikulam Road (Lock heart Gap view)
Eravikulam national park is located on Coimbatore Road. (13 Kms from the town) known for endangered species of wild goat (Nilgiri Tahr). Tea museum can also be found in this direction.
You need at at least two night and one day to explore the town and nearby area.
