I almost protested that there's no way I'd be tired enough to give a fae my name, let alone make any sort of bargain or deal with them
and then I remembered that last night I was so tired I agreed to so much that I literally would not have if I weren't the sleepiest cat in town.
So, yeah, if I were tired enough I guess I'd sign my whole existence away to a fae.

BTW, due to name shinanigans, I think I'm accidently fairy proof? I have like 9 different names that are all my legal names depending on my geological location and the situation, and fairy lore is very unclear on what constitutes a 'real' or 'true' name.
Not sure it's that good of a deal, given that it's implied we aren't going to live more than a few years, or maybe only months. 😅

I can't remember which African country it is but traditionally the mother names gives the child his "real" name that she is the only one that knows it. The child grows up using a completely different name. I don't think the kid even knows their "real" name. This is supposed to keep them safe from curses and witchcraft. Win! I can't give you my name if I dont even freaking know it! 😂

I originally was trying to listen to this in hopes it would help me wake up. Little did I know I was going to relax even more. Honestly that was the best platonic cuddles I've had in forever. At least it felt that way.

One dusk, a person very close to me, told me that one day I’d be ok with a more mundane lifestyle. That terrifies me. Having a life without whimsy scares me, but being simply satisfied with such a state terrifies me beyond belief. For what am I without my fiery urge to fight against societal chains? What am without mountains of wisdom & conflict to climb over? What am I without my hunger and dreams?
I do not wish I could simply stop those of my species from the hurt they feel & from the hurt they cause. That would be against the logic engraved in the stones which lay on this Earth. I do however wish I could at least cushion their falls and aid them when that is not possible. I wish when someone cuts another that they for just a fleeting moment could feel the sting as well. I wish I could stop people from hurting the land & wildlife which so graciously allows them to call so much home. I wish, like in the stories I’ve read & heard by tongue, that having a heart of gold, a spirit of fire, and a mind of wonder would simply be good enough for survival. But I can not. That is that. That is a summary of my troubles.
