Your list is not as Hilarious as Nik Nocturnal list. What was his top artist? Nik Nocturnal. He had a few of his own song as his top songs. Yeah, Nik listen to himself. I guess you got to make music you like yourself.

My top 5 songs were also Sleep Token. They honestly started off this year with Chokehold so you know it was a solidified banger, but then the Summoning was like the release of the Kraken! So excited for 2024 music. It’s been such a wild 2023.
I had 4 sleep token songs in my top 5 and then Without a Whisper at 4. The album was jjst so good and the fact it came out in January meant we could listen to it all year!

I had some bands you recommended in my top 100 this year, most notably Aviations and Karmanjakah, which I’d probably never discover if it wasn’t for you. As a big Prog fan, I have to say this year was so good for Prog, with Haken, TesseracT, Aviations, Sleep Token (to a degree) and many, many more! And it’s good to see I’m not alone here with having Sleep Token at the #1.
Also, I have to agree with Without A Whisper being the best Invent Animate song. It was my #1 song this year, and for good reason.
1 is Currents (I know how you feel about them 😂) I was pretty obsessed with the singles and my husband and I were jamming them a ton before their tour. 2 was Sleep Token bc worship. 3 Silent Planet bc I am still currently obsessed with them and think the new album is amazing. 4 is PVRIS which not sure if you heard them it’s alt pop girl music 😅 5 is Veil of Maya. I think you would like my curated playlist. This was a good year for metalcore.
Currents was my number 1 this year too. That album was so good, and I was already obsessed with the singles when they were coming out lol
My top artist was by far Invent Animate. But they came up as #3 on my list. I downloaded Greyview, Sun Sleeps EP, and Heavener to an offline playlist on a plane trip in April and just kept it that way and added music to that playlist. But because all my IA listening was apparently “offline,” not of it was accounted for in my wrapped.
Only the Heavener singles from early 2023 are even in my top songs of the year. But I’ve listened to that album 150+ times this year 🤷♂️
My most listened to artist was also Sleep Token.
And I'm not surprised that it's on a lot of people's lists, because the album is simply fantastic.

I think I'm from the older generation because I use a player and not my mobile phone for music. In the end, what I've listened to this year sounds a bit like Sleep token, Silent planet, Tesseract, karmanjakah, periphery, invent animate.
What I've listened to a lot and not seen is brand of sacrifice, Orbit Culture, Earthside and for the last one The ocean with Holocene which completes a trilogy that I find excellent.
im very surprised, 4 out of my top 5 songs were sleep token, and I only listened to them in may when the album came out

My top 5 songs were also sleep token except for one being Floya. I feel like my top artists were pretty close but not completely accurate as Spotify probably chooses an average from snippets of the year. I was listening to a lot of Coldrain towards the end of the year but there’s no songs from them in my top songs playlist

I gotta admit i got a great laugh out of the top 5 songs all being from TMBTE. My top artist was Veil of Maya of all things, i figured Polaris or Invent Animate woulda been my number 1 but VoM i didnt even think would be in my top 5. Top song however! was Emanate from Allt which honestly could potentially be one of my favourite songs of the year, absolutely adore that track.
VoM was number 4 for me. I played their new album so much I genuinely got tired listening to some of the tracks lol. One of the biggest surprises this year imo.

Shame that the new OM&M album turned out to be really disappointing. Castaway and Warpaint are decent but that's about it. Echo was 1000% better.

Man, my wrapped was hilarious this year. First, my fav song is chokehold which is no surprise couse it's just too good. i was a sleep token simp, i had 117k hours listened, 30k was sleep token alone, once you take that plunge into the discography you get stuck (for context i work overnights and get 6+ hours of listening night usually) Aqua Regia was my top song from them

I had 71105 minutes. my top songs were the summoning, only 35 times, deliver us from evil by xKINGx, Umvelt by Ocean of Illusions, granite, and chokehold. i had 63 genres and 8161 songs. top 5 genres were progressive deathcore, melodic metalcore, metallic hardcore, slam death metal, and pop (mainly cuz of my gf on the drive to and from university). i love wrapped and look forward to it every year.

I think Sleep Token is good / very good.
They have some stuff I love, and some stuff I'm not a big fan of. I think "Take Me Back To Eden" is the best album they've released, but I don't love every song off of it.
In a world where it seems like everyone either "LOVES" or "HATES" Sleep Token, I feel quite alone in my opinion of, "I like a lot of their stuff, but not all of it."

I knew Sleep Token would be high up for me as well but not at the extent that it was. Had 27k minutes with them, was top 0.05%. I suppose i could be classified as a ST simp, but i don't really partake in online discussion on them, i just love their albums and have them all on repeat.
