I love Paula's Choice. I have been using her products for 20 years. She does have a wonderful AHA & BHA peel (25% AHA & 2%BHA). I use it once a week and it helps my skin tremendously.
Someone else mentioned that one. I will be getting that one for sure. Thank you!
Wow..must be .rhe season! So helpful ! I have the PC Bha..need to use more consistently!
Glad this was helpful Mary!
My skin has been teaching in a similar way from trying new products. I'll be heading to Sephora for the Paula's Choice BHA to get started on removing these lovely white spots!🤗
Let me know how it goes for you....good luck!
@@MandyDavisMUA I'm loving it and I can see a difference. Thank you for the recommendation.💕
I use the Paula’s Choice BHA but near often enough. Would have been great to have seen your texture you spoke of and how it got better. Thank you Mandy
The pic I showed was a great example of what it looked like...I was so concerned with getting rid of it that I didn't think to take a pic.
I had texture for six months or more and nothing was working (after cutting back on lots of actives and adding the popular balms and moisturizers).Nothing worked until I started using Paula's Choice AHA/BHA weekly 10 minute peel. Instantly the texture went away. I can't use this weekly now that I've been able to resume tretinoin, but every two weeks is not a problem. It smells bad, but it sure works.
Ohhh...this is so good to know. Seems Paula is the leader in acid treatments. I will check this one out. Thanks so much!

What's your favorite nude lipgloss and favorite nude lipstick?
I believe I answered this from you in my August faves video. 😉
@@MandyDavisMUAJust a heads up, YT does not notify a reply unless you like the comment you’re replying to. Even then I’ve found it’s not consistent (usually when there are a lot of replies) but your subs will not be notified unless you like their comment.
@@kt9495 that’s strange. I get responses to my responses all the time when I don’t like comment. I’ll have to look into it. ❤️
You can get 15 and 20% azelaic acid from dermatica with no prescription and I massively prefer it to the gel base of Rx Azelaic acid. I used the formula from my derm for years. Dermatica version is $25. It's wonderful, definitely worth a try!
I love that so many of the prescription services offer it, like NURX where I get mine. Mine is a cream...I have never tried a gel.
Thanks for all your great tips and i love watching your videos. Im considering buying the mask and eye mask as well. Do you use a serum with them?
You are so welcome! I sometimes use a green tea toner/serum about 20 minutes before the face mask. I don't use anything with the eye one unless it's the eye masks that Currentbody sells to use with them. ❤️
Thanks for sharing! Are you still using the truology retinal product?
You are so welcome! Yes, I am alternating that with my Medik8. xoxo
does the LED mask help with pigmentation? thank you!
I have heard that if you have melasma it may not be the best as it can make it a bit darker, but I haven't had any of my typical spots get darker or lighter using it.
I could listen to you talk about skincare all day! It’s so informative!! I’ve been wanting to add that Paula’s choice to my skincare too cause I also have some texture where yours is. Thank you so much for these videos and suggestions ❤
You are so very welcome. I hope you love the Paula's Choice BHA as much as I do. xoxo
My skin does the EXACT same thing when I eat ice cream, even though I don’t have a dairy intolerance
Oh now that is sad. Cottage cheese is one thing, but ice cream!? Man! It definitely makes you not want to eat it though. It will be a hot minute before cottage cheese comes back in my life. LOL
Ok I need to know what kind of protein powder/flavor you put in your cottage cheese, lol. I know you can’t eat it much any more but I need to know what was so faboulous about it. Ps I hope I don’t get skin issues after, I love my dairy too
Ha! I used Vanilla protein powder, and White Chocolate Macadamia Butter from House of Macadamias (best macadamias EVER). It was so so good and kept me full for hours!
I go to Mexico every year and you can show up at any pharmacy and get a tube of the same azalaic acid for what translates to $25USD 🎉
Nice!!!
Great tips, Mandy! I've had prescription azelaic acid gel (Finacea) for the past 10 years or so; I use it in the morning, after I've washed off my tretinoin from the night before. It helps with EVERYTHING: texture, hyperpigmentation, pores, etc. With those 2 rx products, I don't really buy all the other stuff except really good cleansers, moisturizers/hydrators/creams (with tons of peptides & antioxidants) and one toner/hydrator (Sukoyaka Sahada Urea Moisturizing Toner).
I LOVE that toner....I use it on all my clients...it's so so nice and hydrating but sinks in and feels like nothing. And I agree, they are both powerhouse ingredients, and at prescription strength, not a ton more is needed.
Completely unrelated, but following up on our chat about not needing eyeshadows but getting some new ones, lol -- I just got the Mini Starlette palette (Natasha Denona) from Ulta using points and it is a HUGE new fave. I think the shades would look pretty on your blue eyes, and I highly recommend, but ONLY if you don't already have those same shades elsewhere 😂😘
Oh man! I want the new big palette she just launched, but I am holding out till the sale. I will definitely check into this mini one though...thank you Julie!
Mandy, so interesting! I have oily skin so texture is always a problem for me. I use tret as well as a number of exfoliating products recommended by my aesthetician. My main texture issue is sebaceous hyperplasia. There is nothing topical that can totally remove these. I have to have them removed with electrocautery. It hurts like a mofo, I look terrible for about 10 days while they heal, but after that my skin looks so much better. It’s worth the pain! They do have a tendency to come back so I have this procedure about once a year. I never considered the possible food connection. I also get the type of texture you’ve described in the same place you did- along my cheekbones! I associated it with possibly cream blushes I sometimes wear. I will def start paying attention to the food. Thank you for sharing!
Oh wow...I am so sorry you have to do something so painful, but I am glad that it helps. It's kind of amazing how so much of our skin issues stem from internal happenings. I would be interested to see if you ever find a food connection.
I’m the only one that that dang Paula’s choice made my skin look worse 😅😅😅
Oh, that's a bummer!
I love your skincare videos. They are always such a help. I've been a huge fan of Paula's Choice for 8 years. I keep the 2% BHA on hand always. Great great product. Thank you for all the tips and the reminder to look at food as a cause of texture.
You are so welcome! I am sad it has taken me so long to try the Paula's Choice, but now that I have, I won't be giving it up anytime soon!
Your skin is always so beautiful ! I had a similar experience with my skin as well mine were red and at the top of my jawline on both sides of my face. I had to quit using a skincare product. Thank you for this video. ❤️
You are so welcome....and thank you!
One day I hope to know my skin as well as you know yours 😂 thank you so much for the informative videos. I think you should have been an esthetician for sure!
LOL...I honestly wish that I would have done aesthetician school sometimes. And I never say never....once the kids are in college, who knows what I will do.
Thank you for this! I recently had a very similar situation and it was food related
You are so welcome!
As always lovely vlog thank you mandy😊❤xx
Thank you!! 😊
Mandy, thank you so much for doing this video! I have a question. At what point in your skincare routine do you use the Paula’s Choice? Before vitamin C or after? When I use the Paula’s Choice it feels like it never really soaks into my skin. So I am confused lol. Please help! Thanks 😊👑🙏🏻❤️
You are so welcome! I use it as a toner with a cotton pad and find it sinks in well. I think the cotton pad helps to not use too much product.
@@MandyDavisMUA thank you! I will try that. I have been using the cotton squares to remove makeup. Maybe that is why I am getting too much product. You are the best and always have the best videos. Thank you for all that you do Mandy! Kiss Zeus for me lol. 👑❤️🙏🏻🐾🐾
Are you still using tretinoin
Not at the moment. I speak about that in the video.
Thank you for sharing this! For the most part I have always had pretty decent skin but since last year it’s changed considerably. I was diagnosed with a rare small intestine disorder in December and can sometimes tell when a major flare is coming on because the skin on my face goes nuts. Diet changes throw everything out of wack and hate those pesky little bumps. One thing that helps somewhat I’ve noticed is using more plant based clean skincare products. Not fool proof but helps. Going to look into Paula’s Choice toner. Thank you for so much great info! 🩷
Oh I am so sorry to hear that. It's kind of crazy how much of our skin issues are linked to internal things. xoxo
