- Thankfully, I was able to fly out of the old YYZ terminal 1 (Aeroquay 1 when it was built) back in 1999 for the last time. This was the first thing that I saw when I arrived as a child in 1972. It almost breaks my heart that it is now gone, and there are so few videos & picks of it. Thank you for this video - Truly!
The HVAC were at children's level, could feel the suction! Automatic doors were fun to be around as a kid. Change machines, buying paperback books from vending machine!
Do you have pictures or videos of old Terminal 1 and Terminal 2? I used travel through both on my way to Poland as a kid and can vaguely remember what they looked like inside. I do remember a hallway with children’s paintings when I was coming home in 2002. The only pictures and videos I found are old unclear ones like this video, and more modern pictures were either of the exterior or the departures halls.
The Inuit are great folks. From my time in the Arctic I only wish they weren't so eager to "Westernize" as in the social acceptance of homosexuals and such. It's good that some keep the old ways.
