Yes this is over a year old but I just watched it. Spent 30+ years working on cars. Former mechanic, service advisor and manager. I've owned several German cars. Do the Germans have driving feel and luxury down ? Absolutely. But to some of us, "luxury" is also not visiting the service department on a regular basis and are willing to accept a few trade offs. I've had my 2015 Sonata Sport 2.0T limited for just over a month. Tremendous deal since it was on the dealer lot for several months. Never find myself wanting or needing "more power". If I bought it for 0-60 and 1/4 mile times, then I certainly bought the wrong car. For the price (sticker), I should be driving a Subaru STi if dollars to performance is the ONLY aspect of buying a car - as should everyone that says this or that car is too slow. As the saying goes, no matter how fast your car is, there's always one faster. Third Hyundai/Kia product now in 8 years. We still have the 2012 Forte SX 5 door. 80K on it and reliable as sunrise. In nearly 300K combined miles over 8 years and three cars, we've never been left stranded, seen a check engine light other than at start up, nor added a drop of oil between services. The 2008 Sonata is still going at 240K plus. I put 60 and 75K on my last two VW's respectively and can't say any of that about either. Control arms, window regulators, temperature sending unit, fuel level sending unit, fuel pump, thermostat, oil consumption, check engine lights. I can go on. They certainly FELT better to drive - when I was driving them other than to the dealer. I considered a Mazda 6. Great handling but seats aren't as comfortable. Altima ? Maxima ? 4 cyl Accord ? CVT transmissions so NO THANKS.
ronny Brown This is exactly why I've been trying to preach to people for very a long time. Simply put, these cars are so easy to own and fall in love with. I love the Hyundai/KIA products. I own a 2011 Elantra and my mom owns a 2015 Optima. They ARE the best cars we've ever owned! My mom used to be a Honda & Nissan fan girl. But now, she doesn't want to go back at all. How is your sonata doing ? Any serious problems or interior creaks or rattles? Im looking for a used car around $15k with under 50k miles and a regular automatic transmission, and the 2015-2016 sonata sport looks like my best option. Like you said I just want it to feel quick, it doesn't have to burn rubber or compete with real sports cars. Is it still doing well ?
I really like how Sofyan explains everything about the car in detail. I love the reviews and clearly Redline Reviews has all the new cars tested thoroughly. Love watching him and his car reviews. Keep up the good work Sofyan.
The year of 2015 and on future, Hyundai is a better car than Honda. Golden days of Honda's and Japanese cars are pretty much diminishing now. The new era of Korean cars on the rise. In next 5 years, Hyundai will make their stride in design and quality that are par with the Germans; I personally think Korean cars are caught up with the Germans. It is irrelevant to compare Korean car quality with Japanese. There are not in the same league now. Korean cars came a long way and they are going to the damn right direction..
Love the quad exhaust look. Acura used to do this well with the TL, but now they hide their exhaust which makes no sense for a performance oriented brand.
+eazyd34 To be fair, one of the whole reasons why there are v6 versions of these cars in the first place is for dads that have to drive a sensible car (for the wife, of course), but still want the hot rodded fast car they loved when they were young. The Camry, Accord, and Passat V6 all deliver this acceleration addiction perfectly, and this turbo Sonata was meant to be their alternative to the V6. Unfortunately, it just doesn't deliver the acceleration expected from something supposedly sportier than the base 4 cylinder
I just wish it's 0-60 time was around 6.5 seconds instead of almost 8. But, other than that you get a great car for your money. These go around $17000 in Toronto Canada area at the moment. Not bad
You argued that this Hyundai reaches 60 in 7.5 seconds versus its V6 competitors that reach 60 in 6.5 seconds. Hmm...one second quicker. That's not exactly asking a lot of a driver's patience. Both cars would reach their destinations at the same time with traffic and red lights so that comparison I think is kind of pointless. Fuel economy, however, is a different story.
@@robbiehernandez8019 these cars can hit 60 in under 7 seconds easily. I have a '15 2.0T and I've done it in 6.9 and that was with a good amount of wheel spin(spun through 1st and chirped into 2nd). Exactly. I second you. Why not use a Soundmeter and capture that in the review too ? Will give much better base to compare than just saying what one hears.
They all tend to scratch the dashboard or door panels to illustrate the texture of them too. UA-cam car reviewers seem to have an obsession with "soft touch" materials for some reason.

Stop hatin and give credit when its due
emdec55 Agreed! I never liked turbo 4's & they don't sound nearly as good as a V6. I'm going to buy a 2015 Camry soon with the V6 & it's VERY quick & sounds fantastic!
Enjoy em while they last. V6 engines are going to increasingly be relegated to mid-size sports luxury sedans in the immediate future. Take the 3.5L corporate Toyota V6....it won't meet the 2025 CAFE standards, and it isn't even EURO6 compliant, further eroding any business case it has going forward.
n777ua Well, that's a pretty old engine. N/A motors can still be made to comply with emissions regulations. Beyond that, reality is reality. If larger displacement engines can deliver the power and efficiency people want without the cost and complexity of turbocharging, people will still buy them. I certainly won't be giving them up, I like them more, and so do many others.
I just watched this video a couple day ago prior to writing this : has anyone notice the clattering noise after he opens the hood/ ticking in goes on throughout the whole video periodically 😮
No lies. I took one of these down in my 07 v6 auto accord sedan. He was drafting me and I was still pulling away between 70-100mph until we stopped before a big curve in the road
Well the V6 accord's fly. Me and my buddy pulled away from a Sonata T (probably a 2018) on the highway, at 65 mph, in his 2016 Chrysler 200 3.6 liter. V6 cars beat a Turbo 4, top end.
The design inside and out has taken a huge nosedive. The plastics are no better than you get in an Elantra and the 2.0T used to have class-leading power, but not anymore. Now, its Kia Optima sibling is gonna share this fate.
Jacob Palmer No, you are the idiot fucking moron. Mazda6 ranked no.1 in its class in almost every single car review. So just fuck off if you don't agree. Go fuck yourself instead of making stupid comments here. Go get a life instead of making insulting comments all day on youtube. What a loser.

Double talk abound!! Positive point in one sentence, negative point in the next. while it's good that you t tell or like it is, at the end of the video, one still doesn't know if this is a good review or not.
I have this car, without the stated sun roof but also don't have the rear window shade 🤷🏽♂️
Does it burn oil?
Nothing sporty about this 2.0T. Get the Eco edition, car and driver found that it's actually FASTER
Everything ain't about speed
turbo stitched seats are a bit much
Or better yet, get a Honda Accord V6. That car kicks ass.
Man if they made this AWD it would have been incredible. Not a fan of front wheel drive sporty cars.
Probably would have weighted it down and taken from the engine hp. But it wouldn't be a sports trim unless they want to put in a V6 again
Is there a 2015 Chrysler 200 review coming?
Here's a review...dont buy a Chrysler. ..once they get few miles on them they are junk...you will be fixing them all the time.....stay with Hyundai
Could you please tell me what kind of gasoline it requires to have the best performance Thank you
+Ivan Nichols lmfao 😂 😂
87 octane is sufficient but if you really wanna get the most out of the engine, use diesel. It's a secret most people won't tell you, but it will really surprise you.
he talks TO DAMN FAST. LIKE TAKE A BREATH
Love that intro!
The steering wheel looks like the one in my Mercedes C350 coupe. Lol
And finally it happens
0-60 is 5 seconds and it would beat any other car in its class.
Sorry to say but turbocharged engines feel rubberbandy and laggy. I prefer a V6 with linear power.
what's the name of music?
holy shit that was a well executed review
Right?
I have a question
Wait so this thing is a 2.0T but 0-60 mph is still well above 6 seconds?
yes, it"s a sonata.
It's been tested to get 6.5 to 7. I have a 2.4 naturally aspirated one that's 8 seconds
Yeah. It used to be closer to 6 in the previous gen (2009-2014) because the 2015 and newer have been retuned to have torque lower in the RPM range
Lol the 2011 2.0t which I still have stock steady did just over 6 seconds to 60 I got a tune exsaust bov and intake and I shit on a lot of cars especially from a slow roll. This car isn't great from 0 but the way people under estimate this car is crazy. Stock I walked out v6 Camry 2010 maxima accord v6 so what is this guy talking about... Stop hatin and give credit when its due
Need some water?
I might go and buy a used one, there's one nearby.
Same. I hope to soon.
I just bought mine in love with it😍🚗
I test drove one the other day and man I loved it, just hated the dealership it was at
Rest of the world : HYUNDAI
America : HUNDAI
I'll take the competitor's V6 engines any day. I know this has become trite, but there is no replace for actually displacement.
emdec55 Agreed!

Well, that's a pretty old engine. N/A motors can still be made to comply with emissions regulations. Beyond that, reality is reality. If larger displacement engines can deliver the power and efficiency people want without the cost and complexity of turbocharging, people will still buy them. I certainly won't be giving them up, I like them more, and so do many others.
*****
I agree, I love straight 6 engines, but their problem is just their length. Most manufacturers prefer having the tighter design of a V block.
rnorred1986 Congrats you will buy a ugly shit car when looked from the front.
I want to thank my mom and dad
JoeYohannan2k They probably won't stay to together after this.
Song?
I just watched this video a couple day ago prior to writing this : has anyone notice the clattering noise after he opens the hood/ ticking in goes on throughout the whole video periodically 😮
i like this sonata hyunda
Not a car question but what brand of shirt are wearing i like a lot
V6 cars beat a Turbo 4, top end.
hyundai worsened the engine that already wasnt best midsize
You should do a kia optima review!!
And my dawg Jason
you're slide shots on the exterior of the vehicle are really shaky. starts to make me motion sick.
Can get 400 whp effortlessly in the 2011 body style with minor mods and I mean MINOR I have about 340whp and I'll walk any mid size v6 sedan.
The design inside and out has taken a huge nosedive. The plastics are no better than you get in an Elantra and the 2.0T used to have class-leading power, but not anymore. Now, its Kia Optima sibling is gonna share this fate.
pontiacGXPfan You want more flamboyant ugly screaming design go buy a Camry, plastics??? what? do you own a Ferrari? no? then STFU.
You mustn't have seen this car when it first came out
pontiacGXPfan fucking idiot
pontiacGXPfan
all companies platform-share. has nothing to do with anything dumbfuck.
I get that. It's just that there's ways to and ways not to
Is it awd or rwd
Fwd
Thank You
I think $26k price point would've been fair for this trim, not $28k...
this has the $5k tech/sunroof package, so the MSRP is actually $33k.
although you can find used 2015s anywhere between $18k - $22k these days depending on mileage.
I would rather get a Mazda6 Touring manual or a Honda Accord sport manual for a fun to drive midsize family sedan.
vader11111 well go have fun in your fucking Mazda
Jacob Palmer Of course I have fun driving my Mazda. So go fuck yourself instead of making stupid comments.
vader11111 idiot fucking moron
Jacob Palmer No, you are the idiot fucking moron. Mazda6 ranked no.1 in its class in almost every single car review. So just fuck off if you don't agree. Go fuck yourself instead of making stupid comments here. Go get a life instead of making insulting comments all day on youtube. What a loser.
Alex Wong Totally agree. We should just ignore that idiot. He is just wasting his time making stupid comments here. He stupid comments will never change the fact that Mazda is the best in its class. The more he whines the more he is jealous about the Mazda6.
