They do run slightly small, so I recommend getting a size larger than normal for the most comfortable fit (unless you are super fit, the tighter shoes more muscle).

Thoroughly enjoyed the vid haha :) Also, do you think a 997.1 is worth an extra 15k premium over the 996.1 with similar mileage?
Glad you enjoyed the video. I know it is a bit different than other automotive videos, so thanks for the feedback.
Many would say that the 997.1 is worth the extra $15K. It does have more traditional styling and the interior is a bit more modern with plastics less noticeable.
You do get a performance increase with the 997.1, but it has the non-servicable internal IMS Bearing (2005 is the exception as that bearing is serviceable). The bearing has a low rate of failure (similar to the dual row bearing used on the earlier 996.1 models), but you don’t have the option to upgrade it if that makes you more comfortable as you would need to split the case to do so. The 996.1 has a serviceable IMS bearing, so that can be addressed if concerned.
To me the 997.1 and 996.1 feel about the same to drive at least in base form. The 997.1 Carrera S does provide a significant difference in driving experience, but the base model to me feels marginally better in the 997.1, mainly because the 996.1 has a 3.4-liter engine versus the 3.6-litter of the 997.1.
Sorry for the short book, but to answer your question for me, I wouldn’t pay the extra $15K for a base 997.1. My main reasoning is that the driving experience is pretty close and if you save the $15K then if anything goes wrong you have plenty of cash to fix any issues that arise.
