If nirvana is a Cinderella teaching, how then did the Buddha pass into something called parinirvana?
Because, I guess, we are dreaming, and one day we will wake up.
I’m very happy you picked up on this hint from Rinpoche! Para-nirvana actually stands for beyond nirvana. You know, ‘para-nirvana’ has the connotation of having transcended the dualistic notion of ‘attainment’ to it. Indicating the paradox that complete attainment is only possible if all dualistic clinging to any form of attainment is abandoned. This brings us back to the notion of Buddha nature. The idea that there’s actually nothing to attain, or archive. All is perfect. All is complete. The enlightened mind of pure awareness is always present. It is omni-present, non-linear and time-less. All tantric practices within the Varjayana rests on that principle.
The illusory path of practice is all about clearing the way for us to see it that way. Not in an abstract or philosophical sense, but in very actual and real ways! Because Buddha nature is our true nature paranirvana is possible for all of us. Paranirvana doesn’t stand for the death of the Buddha. It actually means the complete attainment beyond all attainments. The full completeness of our primordial potential. Buddha Shakyamuni displayed it for us as the completion of all his teachings. So that we will come to understand that only the completion is our actual practice. All Buddhas have gone through that path of practice. There’s no other path. Everything else is just preparation practice for this main practice. The completion is the path of practice. That is the essence of tantra and the only gateway to complete enlightenment.

Maybe he slipped into the world to walk inconspicuous in the world being in the right place at the right time as Christ said don't let your right hand know what the left is doing
