As a pretty experienced hydroponics grower who has taken an interest in Aerogardens recently. The 2.0 seems like an upgrade in some ways. The pump is simpler and the waterfall effect is one of the most effective and reliable ways to oxygenate water. The top feeding deck on the original harvest is a cool idea but may be unnecessarily hard to clean with the nutrient build up. The LED wattage may not be a downgrade as LED efficiency has made great strides in 5 years. The ill-fitting deck kinda sucks. I currently have a sprout with a Harvest 1 coming, if I ever get a 2.0 I will definitely have to measure the actual light output as I do have the means to and compare them
Thanks for the preview. Seems like it's mostly about being able to reduce cost to compete with everything else on Amazon now. I use a large stainless steel milk frother like the one you have in the last shot to fill water. Generally works ok without spilling. (We have a slightly larger one than the one we use with the espresso machine, and that we don't put milk in so that it doesn't get gunky)
This seems like a big downgrade to me. Lower light wattage, no water pumping to grow deck, one button less control and the pods do not seat. They have built a cheaper unit and charge the same. Hopefully they won't discontinue Harvest 1.
Thanks for the great comparison. I do not like that the pods do not sit flush to the grow deck. Also, you mentioned the light button and the button for nutrition but what about the low water indicator? As far as filling the unit I use the Aerogarden no spill watering jug and it works great. I bought it during one of their 50% off sales and it is worth every penny.
It doesn’t seem to have a low water indicator. But if the water is low, the LED turns off + the pump stops. Not sure why they got rid of that button! 🤔 Ooh good to know that the jug is worthwhile! Does it pour really slowly?
@@SherSheGrows It does and it does not start pouring until you are ready for it to do so. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked. Beat the heck out of my pitcher used prior to that purchase.
I wouldn't compare side by side so close, the light will spill over a bit into each garden - but would love to see them seperated start to finish same plant, same food etc.
Great info Thank you! Are the tops the same size? I have the micro green Tray that fits on the regular Harvest so I was wondering if it would fit on 2.0?
For the old harvest, the pump injects water in the grow deck. It seems that in the 2.0 it doesn't? The pump in the 2.0 shows that it is spraying water in the pods. Does the 2.0 pumps water in the deck?
Definitely a downgrade. I would take the Ahopegarden over the new Harvest anytime. Ahope garden seedlings germinate way faster than in the Original harvest because the light goes down more. Way cheaper also.

They sell a no spill water jug for $18. It has a spout which really helps to fill the unit without spillage.

Seems more like a sprout 2.0 if you ask me.

The little light in the front goes from red to white when it need water

Go to an automotive center and look for a funnel with a flexible tube on it. That should work for all different setups
Using a measuring cup with a pour spout or a funnel.
Excellent video…thank you!
Great info Thank you!

I’m so excited for when that happens….

Does the 2.0 pumps water in the deck?
I don’t think it does, the grow deck is one piece instead of 2 like the others
@@SherSheGrows thanks
