This was prime Top Gear. Not forced humour (like the ones after 2010). Brilliant reviews and humour that naturally comes along with it. Cheap car challenges were so entertaining as well, or testing cars in off road terrain like in this and with the roadsters and muscle cars.
@@vadapartyannapurna Na after 2010 the forced humour started and worsened over time. Maybe 2011/12.
Agree, if I was ever going to watch an episode of top gear I would just pick one from seasons 2-7 as those were the best seasons blending actual car reviews, challenges and natural humour
@@jonathanward7320 I totally agree with you. Thanks for the reply too, I didn't know this comment had so many likes. When I came back from primary school I watched season 2-6 every day. Loved the challenge where they had the Starion, XJS and 635 CSI. That's my favourite episode of all time. This one is really good too.
As we can see, Jeremy has gone for the jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag
I bet Hammond would marry a Porsche 911 if he could
bman4099 they're the most boring cars in human history... And quite ugly to my tastes at least.
I heard he once abandoned his Porsche in traffic just to see his son for his birthday
God DAMN, that Jag looks wicked with those wheels and the metallic paint!
Drug dealer wheels! lolol
We will miss Jeremy. He is a legend.
Gotta love that Jag... the XKR is one of the best looking cars I've ever seen. But thats just my personal preference.
"This is Port talbot, where they make 6 million tonnes of steel every year"
Not any more they don't.
Malik Martin It was privately owned, TATA steel were considering mothballing the plant due to the falling price of British Steel. In the end I believe some buyer was found, along with government aid, I don't remember the details exactly.
Of course they do. For Spanish customers in the EU who have no intention of paying.
Port Talbot steel works is still there, I past there this week and the smoke was pouring out.
That Jag is 25 years old, and it still looks modern.
Nope it looks like it came from the 90's lol. The Nissan 350z came out at a similar time and looks modern now.
@@ovs4744 I wouldnt say it looked horrible. The Jag obviously looks better and will age better. But the 350Z is also a great design that will age well too.
ouch driving on salt water
+Bryan Baltazar It shouldn't matter if they got rinsed thoroughly with fresh water immediately afterwards.
That six series still looks amazing in 2020...
I know. I bort one this year and I feel I have achieved automotive greatness. Low miles and the smg gearbox is the sh!t!
Harry Thompson clean lines and smooth styling, how is that ugly mate?
Of course your a child who thinks only the Nissan GT-R and Lamborghini hurucan are what good looking cars look like.
Shame that Port Talbot Steelworks, where the 645i Coupe bits were filmed, are now closed.
Jaguar all the way
For me, the BMW is too ordinary for my taste. If I was choosing, it would either be the Porsche or the Jaguar. Maybe the Jag because of that V8.
The jag just exquisite. So good looking
I love this old Jag its beautiful
I love it when they start posting videos, means the new series is close! :D
I love the sight of Clarkson shoving the Jag around and the metal radio is up! They are great cars though and are appreciating it seems.
Shoulda had the M6 ;) "Sober" and "composed" would've gone right out the window!
My idea of spring break; drifting and hooning on a beach with my mates!
wow.....finally a REAL TOP GEAR video
I adore the XKR, want to daily drive the BMW and take the 911 for a weekend trip- that last one is lovely except for its slightly controversial headlights
"This is an ideal car then for a bussiness man who needs to get home after a hard day at mill" Definitely I need one as a Metallurgical and Materials Engineer.....
James may : BMW
Hammond : Porsche
Clarkson : JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Pendine Sands is where I drove a car for the first time. A 1985 2.0 Mercedes Benz 190E, my dad's car. One of my best memories as a kid.
When I saw the Porsche 911, I was done. That's my dream car right there.
Finally, a real, original challenge video! Thank you TopGear!!!
i notice that the XKR that jeremy picked was in die another day * but without the gadget's and a minigun
Pretty sure the XKR here wasn't looks slightly different Green. And The XKR in that was a Convertible this was a Coupe. And I think the XKR in Die another Day was a 4.0 Litre V8
Classic Jeremy, all about the power 😂
Now, this 6-Series is considered as beauty, shows how forward thinking Chris Bangle was
@@crigger appreciate early 2000s cars before the Democrats take them away
Hahahahaha in here is everything made out of materials at the end of the periodic table...... XKR jeremy haha
"the xk8 is very very cramped"
I am honestly SHOCKED that Clarkson can even drive it, I'm 6'3 and am not at all comfortable in one. The seats are stupidly high in the car, they don't go back anywhere near far enough, and the only way to fit is to recline the seat to an uncomfortable level and then reach as far forward as possible. In 2019 of course the controls to move the steering wheel don't work properly so this is a hassle every time you get in and out. The seats don't hold you at all, so you just slide about, the steering is completely lifeless, the brakes aren't particularly good, it doesn't make a great noise. The foot box is tiny, my size 12 feet don't fit properly.
Great headlights though. Really spot on, they did a good job with those.
That beach driving looks like so much fun!
so we have ourselves a challenge video... without the actual challenge! Well done, TopGear YT editor, well done, indeed!
“A big v8, 4.2” as an American I laughed hysterically at that point
Feels good to see some Top Gear UK videos.
Gotta love the things that Jeremy says... "drug-dealer wheels" hahahaa.
2020 and Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear UK still number one
I'd say the Jag aged the best!
Its an ex demonstrator - light use to show a few customers only ;)
4:18 One of the most beautiful cars ever built in our world.
Im surprised they didn't go for a Lotus
TacoSeniour How ever a Lotus can beat those cars because above all a Lotus is fun to drive.
Europe: "It has a big V8. A 4.2!
America: "Hold my beer!"
I think the bmw has aged the best.
I'd say it is second only to the second generation of the Jaguar XK but then again that car was released more towards the late 2000's.
Not at all, it's so ugly and off-putting. No reason to look at it, if you can look at Boxter/Cayman.
christmas special, followed by new years, followed by new season
next year will be the best year ever
It had one plastic part on it lol, the fender. The rest was aluminum if you listened.
Well yes, it's not supposed to be a sports car, but for every day work and cruising around the city it's brilliant!
Are you talking about the bmw? I have a 645i and laugh how they try to make it out to be a gentleman's car, it's fun to drive and scares the heck out of me every time i floor it. Very sporty feel
Clarkson love jaguar didn't he
a new topgear vid! cannot you on topgear publish more vids!? big fan
The rust looks better at least
Samniss Arandeen
OMG I know you commented over 4 years ago,but seriously, your profile picture is from Kerbal Space Program 😂😂
That bmw sure looks good til this day
ikr, Im considering getting one. just need to wait for the money.. gonna take half a year ugh
I'm looking at a 650i one. there's actually no M's here for sale. I anyway prefer the v8 over the v10 because it sounds richer and deeper and doesn't have leaking problems as much as as the v10.
But are there more issues with the M version? Thanks for looking out btw.
@@qmarq M version has a slow transmission made of glass and paper and the engine spins its crank bearings routinely among other things. Amazing sound but defective in many ways
hope cable tv in my region will soon show the new season :) so far the older series are looped and series 18 is the newest one
Can anyone tell me what the name of the opening theme music is?
Tarwater - 'Babyuniverse,' followed by 'Flight Path Estate' and 'Theme 4' by The Sabres of Paradise.
This was brilliant and almost poetic
That XKR still looks so good.
so they don't insult that the bmw has plastic on it but they insult the Corvette......
Zoomer Sayed ✌ because the bmw is higher quality plastic, and yes there is a difference in that
yay another half a post, by the time the second one comes out if it ever does i wont give a rats anymore
"A big V8, a 4.2!"
LOL, 4.2 is a tiny V8!
Tears of joy!
I i liked the jag but bmw for me is just a car for Rich people and is pretty ugly ;p
Ohhh!! I wish I could test the Jaguar exactly like this!!
As much as I usually agree with Slow, this BMW is seriously ugly. I know looks are supposed to be a personal issue... But I've never met a person who would like this or the similarly styled Z4, and to me personally it looks as if the main theme here was inbreeding.
Maybe if it was burgundy with proper rims it would look better. Still BMW's have been overrated for over a decade now.
FINALLY TOP GEAR UK!
4.2 "big v8"
Thanks a bunch dude!
Do you know when it starts on BBC America?
I was skeptical at first, but It's actually quite a good show to be honest.
Anyone watching this in 2017..
July John Hibionada yup. Just bought a 645i . Typical top gear , these cars a beast and fun to drive, and loads of power.
Can't wait till some new episodes
I do agree with you. They had a good run...
Wow that thing is incredibly ugly! BMW has always been crap but now it´s even made of plastic - kinda a new Trabant lol
when is the new series coming? cant wait for it much longer........
5:16 "big v8, 4.2l" haha that's small Jeremy we have v6s bigger than that in america lol the smallest prodution v8 I know was a Caddilac 4.5l v8 and that's still small
Engine size means nothing if the power is dreadful, as is the case with a lot of American cars over the years. The original Viper had 400hp from 8 litres, the 2005 Mustang has about 280hp from 5.7L.
a year without top gear is tough
Anyone know what season this is from, i feel like watching the whole episode at my leisure.
Love the accent Jeremy make at the end.
Oh god! I love that XKR!
Honestly, out of all of these, I'd take the Jag.
I LOVE the old XK.
Of course, it's helped by the fact that the 996 911 is the most hideous Porsche ever built, and if you wanted what was basically a sporty 5-series from BMW back then, you'd have just bought an M5.
I like the XK a lot too, however, they DO rust and the wheel arches are too big for the wheels. It was a design cock-up.
Okay, so i'm learning more about British english compared to American English by watching this. So British people call the "hood" the "bonnet" and pronouce the e in "Coupe" where as in american english the e is silent.
Feels good to see a new video from TG UK... And to flag the first idiots for spam...
Does anyone know the title of the very first track that's played in there?
I like it. People are only hating it because it's different.
Periodic table LOL! Nice video well done.
Hammond is just all about Porsche 911's :) haha!
A UK Top Gear video? *Masterball*
AHHHH classic top gear from 2004/5
Its a damn shame that nothing prior to season 10 is on DVD, or blue Ray, and all the digital versions of series 1-9 have all been heavily edited and cut out all the good parts, like the news, and certain car reviews.
Someone give this guy a medal!!!
sand and salt water. exactly where i'd take my expensive luxury car lol
pretty sure they have to hose down the undercarriage with tap water afterwards.
@@sonyviva308 according to Ben Collins' book the cars had to be scrapped altogether after making this video
Really? Me too!!!
@@gryzorr wow, they just blow hundreds of thousands of dollars cause it got some cool looking drone shots... What an epic show
@@Around_blax_dont_relax Well I guess Top Gear didnt had to pay, they just gave the cars back to the manufacturers and said whoopsi...
Richard Porter, the Script Editor of Top Gear, wrote in his book that they called porsche later to get the car back for an other story, but Porsche said to them that some idiot got salt into the engine and therefore the car is unfortunaly not available.
Jaguar on the other hand was very pleased by the nice pictures of the car Top Gear got out of this shoot, but had to scrap the car later too.
