ABOUT
The Lincolns are a 4 piece Teddy Boy band who play a mix of High Energy Rock n Roll, Rockabilly classics and originals with their own unique style and sound. Dressed in their drape coats, drainpipe trousers and creepers, The Lincolns punch out the songs with the same style, enthusiasm, and energy as they were played when things were really kicking off in the fabulous fifties. Already a regular on the Adelaide festival and dance circuit, they are now making a name for themselves interstate and have had amazing receptions so far. As The Lincolns say... When the Ted's are boppin', there's just no stoppin' that Teddy Boy Rock n Roll.

As someone who dances Rock n Roll with my girlfriend we really apprecitate when the bands play FOR us dancers rather than play for themselves. The speed is perfect for jiving and the way the music evbs and flows gives it real emotion to dance to. The best version of this song ive heard. The bass is perfect. He howls to perfection and the instruments are so clear and perfectly mixed.

This is such a great song that it's the only one that I added to My Elvis Tribute Show that Elvis didn't sing as a testament to great 50's style Rock n Roll. Thanks to Lincolns and Go Cat Go, I must have watch this a 100 times to get it right.

Hey Peter... This was actually recorded with a double bass. The video is just us practicing the other night and we were being filmed whilst practicing. The recording was done live at Mixmasters Studio in one take. Great Adelaide studio and Mick is a superb sound engineer. Other than that... Thank you for your kind words.
+Bidboyslim Well now that explains it. Had a second close listen and can hear the DB in action while the clip makes the bass player look like a genius on a bass guitar.

Great rendition, however, fir me, the electric bass kills it. And upright slap bass is soooo much better. Just my opinion.
Ya know, in most cases I would agree--electric bass in rockabilly usually just sounds like amateur-hour Tuesday night rock band at the corner pub. But the guitars and vocals are good enough to overcome that here. I'm impressed.
The electric bass is much tighter in the hands of an expert like Kingsley 😁

Good Cover, only thing missing is the click of the strings on an upright bass!! Certainly better than the other cover I listened to of this song.
I prefer it with the bass guitar, the click of the upright bass takes away from the deep rich bass we hear in this version. I tend to listen to the bassline in every sing. It gives an underlying warmth and richness ..
When s the next album.
Love it except for the electric bass, which I think ruins it, stand up slap bass would have been better, just my 2 cents
