Frank, watching you and Sharon filling that ore cart is making me tired again….so, since I’m re-tired, I’ll just relax and watch your videos! Thank you so much for all your work! 👍❤️👍
Not enough good can be said about the two of you! I'm thinking work is play and play is work for both of you. A true inspiration for us watching! Thanks Frank and Sharon! Be Safe and Well!
There may be a thousand loads left but we are going to save most of it so visitors to the mine can open a ore chute, fill a car and tram it out of the mine to the dump.
Frank makes those huge rocks look like the fake ones on tv sci shows. Like styrofoam. I am looking at that knowing it very well weighs a ton please take care!!!
Hi Frank! I'm going to visit Llechwedd mine in Wales soon. It is the largest slate mine in the world. There are plenty cf mines close to where I love too and have found one location though I need to return in better weather as it is cold and wet here in England.
Thanks for the updates frank and Sharon cant wait till u break through to other levels .can't wait till the next video .patiently waiting .love your channel
Hello Frank hello Sharon What a big Progress. You do alot hard work for this Progress. I wish you all the best alot of strenghs . Take care greetings from Germany Yours Frank Galetzka
Great weekly entertainment for us Frank and Sharon - hard, but satisfying work for you guys! Looks like all the shoveling opened up an ore chute, which shows great progress. Stay safe, please!! 👍
Super, super 😎😎Hungry for more!!!!! Out house very important! Did you hear about the short story about the race to the outhouse? It was written by Will (he) Make It & illustrated by Bet (he) Won't!!!
The museum is looking good, pleased the progress in the mine is doing well always look forward to you next video been following you for a good few years now love your mine explores, you always have the nuts to go where nobody else will dear lol. Keep up the good work.
I love spending my time with and watching you guys... just wish it was a bunch of hours longer... love an enjoy your company !!! I'll have to wright down your address so I can go see you guys and if possible, volunteer my time helping out 💀💀👍👍🌹🌹
Enjoy the updates, Frank!! First thing I thought of was a flat car to push the big rocks on, then push it out, but it looks like you're making good progress using the sledge
I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh at about the 4:15 mark. The dark side of being in a mine really sets in when you realize you're 1000 feet from the closet role of... paper products! Takes Jeff's saying to a whole new level: _"So come on! Let's goooo!!!"_ wait, I do gotta gooo!! 😆
Now That's what I call exploring a mine, it was a complete story Inc a verbal story and was not just a video of rocks as they pass bye on a walk through a mine. Very nicely done and a complement to your new chief adviser in crime. GOOD JOB. I am glad I have stayed a subscriber for this long, I have discovered a vein, look forward to more.
Watching your videos gives me a perspective of mining I never knew before. I come from a family of miners on the east coast, so coal. My great grandfather was killed when slate fell from the ceiling onto him, even after it was bolted up for safety. It was unavoidable and deemed not his fault. He appears in some mine fatality reports and not others. Reporting by the mines and government is very inconsistent, missing all together and a lot of times contains misinformation.
@@exploringabandonedmines I totally agree with you. When I learned of and saw the practice of bolting I thought about the vibrations and stress causing more problems than would be fixed by a bolt. His report states, fall of roof at face of room, coal type bituminous, age 70 or 68 which is wrong, 1 minor survivor which was wrong he had 7 little children. I am going to drive up to the Harrisburg and pull the entire report. I have his death certificate and a report summary. We lost about 5 family members in the past in this and one other coal mine.
Frank and Sharon, doing great work, so they can open for business. You sure got a lot of common rock out to create that hole, more to go, there is light coming soon to the 2nd shaft.
Very nice video. The museum and outhouse are really cool. Those are freaking enormous rocks. 16:13 large spinning chip of rock does spiral and hits camera, that would have shattered the lens. Very close call. Definitely need eye protection.
Wow it's all coming together beautifully. I really enjoy these episodes from the Yankee Boy, it's so exciting to see what you guys are up to, how you're working through it and your plans - you're so well organised. You 2 grafters put some youngsters to shame! I see that Frank likes a sizable bonfire - “Not crazy big” 😂. Love and greatest respect to you both ❤👷🏻♂⛏👷🏻♀⛏ ❤
What a project! Frank, I have a question. Where you are currently mucking, is there enough headroom to use a mucking machine? It looks a bit constrained.
@@exploringabandonedmines Oh yea, I realize the air part. I was just wondering if physically there was enough headroom. Then again, that is a large enough hole that I'd doubt that it was hand mucked. On the other side, there don't seem to be turnouts for loaded cars to pass.
Rather than waste time breaking the rocks on site, hear me out: take the most despondent looking ore cart you have, but that has a solid axle and base, ditch the top and build a mini crane on it that has a platform. Could also be a winch, but a crane's more useful in all shituations vs just pulling. The crane should look like one of those log carrier quad attachments that you can hook up to your hitch and raise the end of the timber off the ground to carry it easier through the woods. Same thing, but on tracks. Should be extremely easy to build one, maybe just take an existing one and adapt it for your track gauge. Outside you won't even need to work to break them, just use the dozer to crush them once there's enough of them to merit the fuel, or just plain dump 'em off the side if you've got no use for them. Hope this idea inspires you to build a Frank special, in my eyes, it's worth the effort as it speeds up your endeavors.
The sore is really looking good. Your out house Sharon is coming along. That whole rock that fell from the floor above was a real mess. I like those pieces of gold you came across could be a good thing. Take care my friends. See ya next week.
Your channel is always exciting I love watching it It's on I was just gonna say I know you've been breaking time that sometimes we forget the easiest way just drill like 32 " holes in those big rock put in a steel wedge and then just play music on them tap on and that rock is just butt all the hell or split right now but I'm sure you know that god bless you god bless your childhood god bless America Thank you
If you could put those boulders on a rock on an angle you should be able to break it with the sledgehammer or Jackhammer would break it quicker too done that for a lot of concrete
Could you rig up a block and tackle so you can lift those big rocks into the ore car instead of manually breaking them and lifting yourself? Just thinking of your back, you only get one chance with your back and once its hurt it'll never go away.
Just a thought with the larger rocks could you put a winch on the front of the oar cart and a small ramp leading to bottom of dump door (on oar cart) to winch the large rocks for removal…..the large rocks would make for a nice “guardrail “ on road leading to the mine.
Loving the Yankee Boy updates!
We will be doing them every week now...lots of new developments!

Yes it has been a lot of hard work but we are being rewarded for our effort!
You gotta get Earle to let you into the Ymir Mine.. I used to be an owner but got out years ago. That mine system is huge.
I think we were in that one. Way up the top of the mountain there is an old car in the portal?

They mined from the top back filling the stopes with waste rock as they went up. We are now uncovering the back filled areas!
360 loads! Legit work Frank
Around 800 loads in total with both shafts!
Looks cool now I wonder about all the other mines

Shitty story!
Build a cart for your rail and build a structure that can go over the top of you protect you from rocks while you work
Sounds like a lot of work. Easier to just scale it.
Super cool!!!
You two must be in fantastic shape with all that exercising going on! Crazy how many loads you two have taken out...

I have seen the back fail on many mines. Bolting it up sometimes makes it worse as it is then fractured by the drilling.

Some safety glasses would be nice at a minimum, you could hear rocks hitting the camera
"If I stay in the middle I will be fairly safe, I guess."
