Thank you for this good overview. I've read all of Tosha Silver's books, and I love the many ways she refers to our higher power.

Beautiful deck but as a former Catholic who became pagan term "dear Lord" or "Lord" have negative Yahveh connotation. Which is strange choice for a deck which has Indian God on a cover. Which "God" we address while reading cards from this?

No God is 'Indian' or 'American'.
      It's just a perspective.
God is every country's,everyone's- if you know what I am trying to mean ☺
Whoever God YOU pray to/address before pulling card/cards,He/She will be there to Bless you.

I agree it can cause confusion and certain ways of addressing "God" can be off putting to some while comforting to others. I always use whatever form of God that pertains to me personally even if by chance the deck creator uses another. They are speaking from their perspective and using all of their experiences to convey these messages and each one of us will resonate in our own unique way, so if Ganesh resonates with you then use that. All are leading to the same source. Blessings to you ♥

Lovely review. I wish I had seen your review before buying the deck. I was not familiar with Silver before this. One of the first cards I looked at used, Lord in a prayer and it is indeed, triggering. She also uses, The Divine, which is fairly innocuous. However, Dear Lord and God are used on nearly half the cards. The terms evoke the abusive, male centric, Christian upbringing I had. If she is trying to use general versions of the divine anyone can identify with, I think she has failed. She's using prayers and affirmations that feel Christian, A Hindu Deity on the back of the cards and she throws in one mention of Divine Shakti and a token Great Spirit. I'm left with a weird vibe of Christianity dressed in New Age with a splash of cultural appropriation. The cards are beautiful, but I am going to have to think long and hard about whether I can use the deck as is, want to pull some of these cards out or not use the deck at all. I'm pretty sure I can't return them since I've opened them. :-(

Aw I'm sorry to hear that but I totally understand that her stuff may not resonate well. I too had a hard time at first but after using the cards often, I almost automatically receive the messages now without attachment to her references to God or Lord. I think pulling out anything that doesn't align with you is a great approach! I have been known to write or put removable sticker labels over-top any words I don't connect with and then add my own. Best wishes that you will be able to use the deck! ♥

Ganesha is often referred to as Lord Ganesh. Does it make it any better or worse? lol

What is wrong with God or Lord, I am affened that you have to say something like that, clearly you are not someone that I would consider to be a believer, I love God ,Jesus, Lord, he died for us and mad a sacrifice, how sad.
