It was written in 1952 by Chilton Price but Price gave composing credit to Pee Wee King ( Western Swing Star) for promoting the song. The song was originally called "Hurry Home To Me". King changed it. Joni James had the first recorded version in1952 and it has been covered by Elvis, Dean Martin, Patsy, and others. The two most popular covers were by Jo Stafford also in 1952 and the Do Wop group The Duprees in 1962.
