Exposure therapy is the current best medical solution to curing claustrophobia. And I'd say, learning patience is also helpful. Any of those kinds of anxieties often come from the fact that we are just in a hurry to leave situations we do not like. Don't be in a hurry.

Yeah these kind of caves have some loose rock. It really was no problem but it could have killed me if it was a further drop. Just goes to show that there are some big rocks that are just barely hanging on.
I love watching you guys. I was obsessed with adventurous stuff but have been freaked out since motherhood changed me!! I was wondering if you feel that the nutty putty guy could have been rescued? Would you have done anything differently if you were the first rescuer on the scene?
Our first viral video was on the Nutty putty cave incident. It's titled, why everyone is wrong about dying in a cave. In all honesty I just think that was The Perfect Storm of bad decisions. It's such a rare event that it remains the only of its kind. So I don't know if it could have been prevented or not it's kind of an anomaly.
@@CalvinHikes I was only kidding. I know their are logistical and practical reasons for the order to be one way or another based on size and age I’d assume, as well as other circumstances.
A cave takes as long as it takes. Sometimes it takes a number of days. Rain is only a problem if rain is a problem. People who get caught in caves that are subject to rain swells are like people who climb mountains in snow storms without gear. It's tragic, but wildly preventable and completely unnecessary.
Well that does happen. It's usually the phone though. Although this specific cave is only about 200 ft from the car. It's in town! On an old lava cone!
How are you able to judge, before getting through a squeeze, whether it will be viable getting back through, or is it kind of a rule of thumb that since you were able to get a decent enough position to go in/get out the other side, that the reverse will also be possible?
We have several 360 videos as well as on our second page. We like them but nobody watches them. Will continue to do them occasionally when a cave is interesting enough it takes a tremendous amount of bandwidth. Download and upload times are absolutely ridiculous.
The only way you can get disoriented is if you're laying on your back. Then it gets a little weird but you can almost always feel down. The problem is if it's dark... where you might be able to tell which way is up but you don't know if you can move that way. It's rarely a problem. We try not to move into bad positions and that way we don't have to deal with them. And the best trick for being disoriented is Just Close Your Eyes For a Moment. That really works. You don't use your eyes to adjust your senses you just close them and the rest of your body will figure it out. Immediately.
Can i ask you a question Jacobs uncle please? if u were one of the john jones rescuers would you have done anything different to rescue john jones than the actual rescuers did?
I have watched probably all your videos. I would never myself go in those very tight spaces you go threw. Do you have any videos where you are actually really scared that you're stuck somewhere. And if you do could you tell me which one it is.. Thanks Gabriel
It's not really a legitimate fear. I mean I just never actually afraid that I'll get stuck. Not in a way that would appear to be so on video. Some moments of tension but I keep it to myself. If we ever get in a difficult situation we usually turn off the video. Our second page is usually less scary but there is a video there where a cave collapsed on someone we were with and I actually thought he was going to die and maybe the rest of us as well. There is video before the incident and after the incident but not of the incident. Because we were trying to rescue him
Can you always or most of the time also move backwards where you can move forwards? What if you're on your way out of a cave and someone else is on their way in and you meet face to face in a tight tunnel? Is this ever an issue?
It's sometimes an issue and you got it about right we can back up through anything we can go forward through. It's often more difficult. If I anticipate a passage being difficult I will back into it that way if I get stuck I'm already facing the direction out. Heck I can even back straight up through a vertical passage. It's important to know what you're physically capable of before you get in a situation like that.
Hey guys, great video! Could you please let me know what the first background song is? I often hear this from my neighbour, through the wall and was very surprised to hear it here. Always thought it was the theme of some videogame he played. Don't know how likely it is that he's also watching your videos. 😅
Thank you. We don't know what the background music is. We use generic ambient non copyrighted music. This video, being over a year old, I have no memory of it.
hey i'm coming to the uk in few days and i'm itching to go caving but i have never done it before and i don't want a boring caving I want something that challenges me can i join u guys on a caving adventure 🙏
Well first of all we're based out of the northwest corner of the United states. That's probably the most relevant information. You may also notice that we've never caved with anyone. Unless you're part of an organized cave in group it's very difficult to find something sufficiently challenging. Most public caves are made public because they are developed and safe. But you can using the internet find non-guided caves. That's how we used to do it. Takes a little time in searching but it just depends on how hungry for the darkness you are. Caves are everywhere. Good luck
Have fun it's probably the best advice. If you're going to Cave you'll probably need to join an organized caving group. Otherwise, caves are just not available to you.
They were just bored and they actually play that game. That was the day that I was drilling out the walls. So they had like a couple hours to kill in the darkness.
We died. During the Coronavirus shutdowns we didn't have school or work so we had time to make videos and go caving. We still do, but at a slower pace. I've also been sick for about a year and a half which has also slowed things down. But the next video we have here will probably be our scariest. It's almost inappropriately terrifying. It'll be worth the wait hopefully.
I can give good recources for every state except Oregon. There are hundreds of lava caves in the Bend area. Many can be located with public information or using something as simple as Google Maps. And limestone is in southern Oregon... Medford area.
its been 9 month since last [this] video uploaded. all good ? wanna see more and more videos of you doing caving but you have stopped posting videos. what happened ?
In the video titled, injury update we updated our situation. I don't know if people aren't seeing that video or just don't believe it? It's a mystery to me. ua-cam.com/video/Cb2Lxk14sf8/v-deo.html
@@JustTryingToUA-cam well, he said in that video if you bothered to watch it "the videos we are posting are all old videos and once we soon run out there will be a gap"
I often wonder why this video gets the questions about how often we upload. In a previous video we explained everything that was happening with the channel I think it's titled injury update. Not sure if people are seeing that.
Yes we are aware. Tick Tock blocked us and said our videos were too dangerous. We've been blacklisted several times. So now people just steal our videos and upload them but they are allowed. We have tried to take legal action but there isn't anything we can do. Other people are allowed to post our videos but we are not allowed to post our videos on tiktok. So you can imagine our feelings about tick tock. Tick Tock is where we blew up first. We had a quarter million followers. Before we even had Subs on UA-cam.
Ripped those Marine Corps pants up. You guys military or just some surplus? I ripped my pants like 10 times in the Marines. Military grade does not equal superior grade lol.

I can't fathom someone not. I mean I know it occurs because no one's ever out here but whenever I see you a little cave I get super excited and I want to know what's in there! What's in there!
Wow.... I trully don't know how I got here but I understand the point. Maybe some people, back in the days, were hidden from dangerous stuff and preferred going into a small hole than risking their lives. I suppose you have already found very interesting pieces of history?

Hey guys, great video! Could you please let me know what the first background song is? I often hear this from my neighbour, through the wall and was very surprised to hear it here. Always thought it was the theme of some videogame he played. Don't know how likely it is that he's also watching your videos. 😅
Thank you. We don't know what the background music is. We use generic ambient non copyrighted music. This video, being over a year old, I have no memory of it.
@@CalvinHikes Okay, thanks anyway.
@@bluedot45674i think its from portal 2 because i remember it hearing it while playing portal (also you should play it if you haven't already)
hey
i'm coming to the uk in few days and i'm itching to go caving but i have never done it before
and i don't want a boring caving
I want something that challenges me
can i join u guys on a caving adventure 🙏
Well first of all we're based out of the northwest corner of the United states. That's probably the most relevant information. You may also notice that we've never caved with anyone.
Unless you're part of an organized cave in group it's very difficult to find something sufficiently challenging. Most public caves are made public because they are developed and safe. But you can using the internet find non-guided caves. That's how we used to do it. Takes a little time in searching but it just depends on how hungry for the darkness you are.
Caves are everywhere. Good luck
will you do a gear list video including filming equipment?
We have our gear listed in most of our video descriptions. Maybe someday if I get real bored but I doubt it.
@@CalvinHikes right but a gear video is more useful
@@watch-Dominion-2018 a hella lot of battery's
@@cavemanjacob right but a gear video is more useful
What will happen if you get stuck and cannot go out
The same thing that would happen to you if you got stuck and could not get out.
@@CalvinHikes ....
It's been a long time since we saw anything from you. are you okay?
We have a video titled injury update a few videos before this one.
I’ve been wanting to try caving for years, any advice for a newbie to get started?
Have fun it's probably the best advice.
If you're going to Cave you'll probably need to join an organized caving group. Otherwise, caves are just not available to you.
Where have you been lately. I dont see you posted a video for last 7 months.
Theres a video there that explains. I think the title is injury update or something like that.
You guys didn't end up naked!
*You guys didn't end up naked on video.
Still alive?
No
You guys are nuts, but so cool 🫡😂
Great compliments.
Playing minecraft in a cave is genius.
They were just bored and they actually play that game. That was the day that I was drilling out the walls. So they had like a couple hours to kill in the darkness.
Anyone else wondering where they are ? It’s summer time an no videos
It'll be worth the wait hopefully.
very neat.
But not very tidy. 🙄
Can you lead me to a resource on good places to find caves in oregon?
I can give good recources for every state except Oregon.
There are hundreds of lava caves in the Bend area. Many can be located with public information or using something as simple as Google Maps. And limestone is in southern Oregon... Medford area.
@@CalvinHikes gotcha, that medford tidbit is what i was lookin for. Thanks!
its been 9 month since last [this] video uploaded. all good ? wanna see more and more videos of you doing caving but you have stopped posting videos. what happened ?
In the video titled, injury update we updated our situation. I don't know if people aren't seeing that video or just don't believe it? It's a mystery to me.

@@CalvinHikes aaah i missed that video to watch 😬 . got the idea. also take care of non caving ingery. 💝💝
@@JustTryingToUA-cam well, he said in that video if you bothered to watch it "the videos we are posting are all old videos and once we soon run out there will be a gap"
Do another video puzzle
Do you still upload vids? How often do you upload?
I often wonder why this video gets the questions about how often we upload. In a previous video we explained everything that was happening with the channel I think it's titled injury update. Not sure if people are seeing that.
Ok just watched that video. Explained perfectly. Thanks for leading me to it.@@CalvinHikes
Are you guys alive ?
No
You should make a tiktok. Lots of people are reposting your videos on there and getting millions of views
NAVY
hou are you guys going?
are y’all still making videos?

Its like watching the ground give birth
And without painkillers!
Why you are doing this much adventurous things ☺️
Life is to be enjoyed, and we enjoy adventures in challenging places. We look at a situation and ask, “Why not?”
You good? 2 months and no uploads makes me nervous
I died a year ago and I'm unable to convince people that this occurred. February of 2022.
This video is literally 2 years old.
The sad truth
🔥👐
Love the channel, can we expect new content in the future?😊
Mis it actually.😊
Second channel is full of new content.
Otherwise this video which no one watches updates our situation
ua-cam.com/video/Cb2Lxk14sf8/v-deo.html
I just discovered this channel and took a week's worth of xanax in 12 minutes.
Now onto the next video of the channel.....😬
And there's a second Channel. ; )
I'm admittedly a little worried/curious since they haven't posted in awhile. Anyone know anything about this?
I know about it
How did you find these hidden entrances, just amazing
We spent a lot of time looking!
You're seriously making me redefine my definition of a tight space....
As are we.
Why aren't there any new videos?
I just can't fathom someone seeing a whole in the ground the size of a basketball hoop and thinking "I should squirm my way through that." But thanks to you guys we get to see things that have likely never been documented before!
I suppose you have already found very interesting pieces of history?
hoping you both are doing okay. Miss ya
Jacob's fine. He's bigger than me. I've been sick for like 2 years so you know, it's slow going.
@@CalvinHikeschronic illness is no joke I have it myself and often when I am not doing well I watch these videos to remember how fun it is to do things. I hope you still get to have plenty of fun despite illness. Hope you make it over to New Zealand for caving some day.
I want to want to do this but im confident i wouldnt be able to go through with it. You two have really conquered the fear.
But it feels so great when we survive once more! 🤪
Insanity is a form of art. You guys are great artists.
Wot
😂😂😂definitely insane
These guys just take caving to another level. Bravo
A deeper level indeed. Thanks much.
No problem
Wow. It's incredible seeing how Jacob just gets better and better as he gets older!
And would you believe this is almost 2 years ago! I know it hurts. He's bigger than me currently!
come to sri lanka.explore rawana nil diya pokunacave (blue water pool cave )its crzy ❤️🇱🇰
Been to India, but not Sri Lanka. Sounds like a great cave.
I wish I could go with you on one of those tunnel adventures! It looks like it would be a lot of fun knowing I would be doing it with someone like you who knows what they are doing
We have tried taking new cavers, but the cold and damp conditions are not easily dealt with.
Thanks for sharing my friend
I am claustrophobic but I swear if I was down there with you guys just hearing your calm soothing voice makes the anxiety go down a bit.. U really do have the perfect cave voice 😂😂😂
Thank you I consider that very high praise. We are always very calm and having a good time.
Except Monday when I was yelling at the lead caver, "don't leave me!"
Saw a news article about a man named Mark Dickey who had a needed to be rescued from a cave in Turkey. Unreal the guy looks just like you. Thought for sure it was you.
Yeah maybe I kind of look like that guy. Couple news outlets reached out to us for an interview to get our expert opinion. But I don't really have an expert opinion on getting injured. I do know a cave rescue like that is... it's not hard it's just very very slow.
Cave strip club was hilarious. A rock falling on your back not good. Glad Jacob has a lot of muscles now. Keep safe.
Jacob is naturally gifted for extreme action. He’s a beast on snow skis.
I love these video's. Y'all are nuts! Keep 'em coming!
“Nuts” is a compliment. It makes our gig sound almost normal. 🤗
I'd be concerned a narrow was traversable in one direction but impossible in return..
It has happened…except for the impossible part. We calculate our risks.
Hello where is next video
Lol cave strip club 🤣 😂
U guys are so awesome ! I'm from Baltimore and I've always been claustrophobic from the time I was a kid . U guys amaze me from how u are brave enough to do this I showed my friends and my family your videos we love them !!! My dad's name is Gary . Me and my mom were laughing because we remember watching the video with u filming the other cavers with the guy named Gary in it 🤣👍 !! I still feel bad for John Edwards Jones rip buddy so sad 😥
The streets of Baltimore are probably tougher than most caves. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yours and Jacobs passion for this is inspiring love these videos
Kind words. Skied with Jacob today. He’s a beast on boards!!
