Leonids in Real-Time using the Sony ZV-E1 (Radio Echoes Too!)

- November 17-19, 2023 was the peak of the Leonid meteor shower. Visual rates were around 30 per hour but the radio recorded many more meteors. Scouring through 10 hours of video, I found about 50 instances in which the meteor was caught on video as well as a radio recording. Both video and audio recordings were synced to reveal a correlation between the two methods.
This video is a sample of the meteors recorded during the event and includes a few clips with coyotes howling and owls hooting. It was amazing that both nights that I recorded were perfectly clear nights with little moon interference. I guess there are some positives for being in a drought!
Turn up the volume for this one.
Excellent work job.
Thanks Alan. I didn't have to stay up all night in the cold to see this. Good job.
