    Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!

    My doodle always went to the groomers every 2/3months up until 18 months ago, when had to have massive lifesaving operation. This took 6months to recover from before I could even consider the grooming again. Unfortunately NO groomer will now even consider doing the job, it is a definite NO without hesitation. After attempting to manage the coat myself it is now showing a hacked look, This video gives me what I desperately need, a step by step guide and demonstration with full explanation and tips. I only lack one thing.......a dog that stands perfectly still 😂 but I still would not change mine

    This is a really cute haircut, especially for a doodle with a fleece coat not a wooly or curly coat. I like how it shows the beautiful shape of the labradoodle body. Often labradoodle cuts are cute, but you lose the athletic look in too much hair. Also when the hair is shorter it is lower maintenence which is a plus. I also like that you can see the shape of the ears, instead of letting them grow until the dog looks like a spaniel. Will definitely be using this video for my pup.

    Beautiful work, on a lovely dog so well behaved!!! A real pleasure to watch your skillful work with scissors. I do have some questions please:
    1. #4 and #6 comb blade attachments - what size in inches or mm are these?
    2. What kind of blade size did you use with the combs? #10 blade with #4 comb for body. What kind of blade for head - same one?
    3. Head hair is left a bit longer than body, right?
    4. Is it okay to trim face a bit shorter than you left it? I'm used to poodles, so wondering if Labradoodles would look good with a slightly narrow facial profile instead of a Schnauzer type mustache and beard?
    5. Please let me know what type of clipper you used on body, and what kind would you recommend for inside paw trimming? I have an Andis AGC2 Pro, but for detail paw clip for poodles I'm looking at Bravmini, or Chromado smaller clippers both made by Wahl. Please advise!!!
    Thanks for a great demo! Such a good looking finished dog!!

    My Labradoodle is 8 months old and has yet to be trimmed. I was hoping to not have him trimmed so short. In fact, I thought the 'before' was short enough. Is there something I should ask a groomer?

    • @lass-inangeles7564
      @lass-inangeles7564 8 років тому +1

      +Tim Dendy Jessica is right. A Labradoodle is a retriever both on Lab side and Poodle side, not a chi-chi dog as the French would have us believe. Poodle is a German product for hunting.
      Consequently, this dog WILL GET MUDDY and loves outdoor sports. If you leave hair long, it will mat like crazy and be a daily grooming nightmare, pick up burrs on paws, foxtails, mud clots, and you will go Arrrggghhh!! and then limit outdoor activity. Not to mention fleas and ticks for this outdoor doggie!
      So cut it short. This demo actually shows pretty long hair on paws and tail and face. I would do a pet cut much shorter! This dog mix has working dog breed origins and is not a companion breed like Maltese or Bichon, so trim has to reflect its working functions.
      By the way, the hair is so fine and silky, if you let it grow, keep it combed down nicely daily, then give it a shave, you can harvest the wool. Send it to spinners to spin into a wool yarn, then knit into a scarf of sweater and you will wear your dog, ha, ha! I would do this if I had a Doodle of any kind! Best wool in the world, close to Cashmere.

    • @janine4360
      @janine4360 7 років тому +1

      Tim Dendy You might have to do some trial and error, both in finding a groomer to do what you want and then what length works best for you and your dog. It's awesome that this groomer emphasizes that (unlike some of the comments here, where they insist on ultra short). Also, it seems that the Australian Labradoodle has a longer, shaggier look, especially around the head, which can be seen in ALAA videos.

    • @Thisnthat979
      @Thisnthat979 7 років тому +5

      0.5% of the groomer know how to maintain long coat on doodles, be prepared to pay big money and be patient to find one. Be very clear what length you want. Get your dog groomed every other week to keep the long coat other wise it will be shaved

      +SM My guess is she uses a high velocity dryer (HVD) after bathing to stretch out the curls and make the clipper glide through the coat. Most, if not all, professional groomers use HVD's, but there are many designed for home use too.
