NMB is one of my favorite places in the whole world. Have made many great memories vacationing there through the years. We go every October for the entire month. It’s July 8th today. Just under 3 months and we’ll be back down there. So looking forward to it!

I almost reached at Myrtle Beach last week, due to deadly hurricane (Elsa) stopped me. I spent two days in Columbia, South Carolina before heading back home in Philadelphia July of 2021!

Did you get permission from the air port? It’s 1.8 miles from where you were flying. I just got one and I own a condo in the same area. Not sure if we need permission or not. It’s less than 5 miles for sure to the airport

Thank you for watching Chris! There are a few pockets where you can still fly if you have a license to unlock the airspace

My Mother's beautiful home town. However, the culture there is really different!

Hey. I am from NJ, and am moving to myrtle in a few months. I am looking forward to escaping the culture here in the tri - state area as it is too hectic, aggressive, and in general not very friendly. I have heard mixed reviews about the culture down there, some good things and some bad. What should I expect moving down there?

@@matisyahup613 A few months ago I noticed that there are a few people people from N.J who have relocated to the Myrtle Beach area.
In reviewing the MSN page on yesterday, Myrtle Beach is the fastest growing destination in South Carolina at this moment.
The local accents and dialog is very different from what you are us to in N.J./ N.Y./ and Conn.
The culture is different as well. Of course you will be relocating to the South, but Myrtle Beach local culture is different with itself compared to some other places in South Carolina ( the thinking process )
There are a few families who own most of the old major properties in the area and they would prefer things staying the same as long time ago.
But, please keep in mind that Myrtle Beach is growing, so the dominant culture will eventually override the former because everyone is having to adapt to Paradigm Shift.
You will definitely have your own Worldview and Prespective, but keep the information I am sharing in the back of your mind.
The surrounding areas use to be a lot of farm land that are now various subdivisions.
So, you have people who grew up all agriculture.
Myrtle Beach ( Horry County) is know to be conservative and Good Old Boy territory. But you will have to judge this in your own time and in your own way.
Rural areas have the tendency to help there neighbors out more when there is need.
People live amongst each other despite cultural differences in the area and the rural outskirts.
You will love the seafood restaurants, but finding where the locals go to eat seafood.
There is a Northern realtor that comes on a Utube channel that gives you the rundown on Myrtle Beach.
Traffic can be challenging on 501 and other areas, so do your research on that as well.
Overall, I believe you will enjoy living in Mrtyle Beach because you are contributing to making a difference. But, please be careful with the individuals you connect with as friends and associate. Some will challenge and compete with you from the mere fact of being from up North.
If you like to go out to get drinks and have fun at the various social gathering clubs take this kind of precaution - be aware of your surroundings because of the density of the Forest areas.
Some people go out partying to hard or hooking up with the wrong people to never be found.
Overall, enjoy your life to the fullest and be safe!
P.S. there are plenty of churches ⛪ around if you have the desire to worship a higher power or your religious preference.
Watch out for the South Carolina Highway Patrolman on your way down.
By the way, my Dad who was originally from British Guyana, came from the N.Y. / N.J area after he was recruited to Coach and Teach at a local high school in South Carolina.
      Best wishes and Good luck!
